·  Shooting has been completed. 

· This is the second feature of promising Turkish director, Alpgiray M. Uğurlu.

·  The Director’s first feature film 'Overture' was in the national competition section at the 50^th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival and 32^nd International Istanbul Film Festival - Seyfi Teoman First Feature Film category. It was also screened in the World Panaroma section of the Jagran Film Festival, India.

·  The film’s offline editing has been completed in just two months.

ENKAZ HİKAYE / THE STORY OF “UNDER THE SKY”

Deprem sonrası enkazın altında gözlerini açan Nisa, sıkıştığı yerden kurtulmak için çaba sarf ederken küçük bir delikten sızan gün ışığı ve oradan gördüğü gökyüzü onu yaşama bağlar. Paralel olarak devam eden hikayede izlediğimiz Barış, tek başına uçsuz bucaksız doğaya adapte olmaya çalışırken çektiği video günlükler Nisa'nın hikayesindeki ip uçlarını açığa çıkarır.

Nisa opens her eyes under the debris immediately after an earthquake. While she is struggling to survive in the narrow space where she is stuck, she catches a glimpse of the sky from a hole above her. It is what  gives her the strength to stay alive.

In the meantime, Baris is trying to adapt to the endless nature before him in a parallel storyline under the very same sky. Clues to Nisa's story are exposed through his video diary.

NASIL BİR PROJE / ABOUT THE PROJECT ITSELF

Enkaz, depremin olduğu anı yücelten ve merak ettiren bir yapıdan ziyade felaketin sonrası ile ilgilenen, hafızalarımızda bu dönemden yer edinmiş trajik hikâyelerden esinlenerek oluşturulmuş bir film projesidir.

Enkaz’ı çekimlerini gerçekleştirmek için fon bulamama ihtimalimizi düşünüp, çekimleri tamamlamak istedik. Bunu için de alternatif bir yapım modelini tercih ettik. Öncelikle, uzun zamandır farklı projelerde birlikte çalıştığımız arkadaşlarımızla ekibimizi kurduk. Devri yüksek iş hacmi yaratıp, çekimleri az saat çalışan ama sayıca yüksek ekip sayısı ile çekimleri tamamladık. Her micro bütçeli filmde olan ‘vazgeçilmezler’ listemizi tamamlayınca filmin çekimleri de bitmiş oldu.

Bu filmde sadece doğal afetten dolayı acı çeken iki insanın hikayesi yok. Kendisini üzen olayları, önemli gördüğü hikayeleri ve Türkiye'de olan baz şeyleri kendi yöntemi ile ifade etmek isteyen filmin yönetmeni açısından ise bu film ayrı bir değer taşımaktadır. Uzun zamandır ihmal edilen konuların anlatılmasını ve unutulmamasını sağlamayı önemsiyoruz.

Instead of depicting tragedy, we wanted to make a film that deals with what happens after. Under The Sky was created from the memories of a natural disaster, tragic event which holds an equally important place in the lives of survivors and bystanders alike.

The story of these two young people that we follow through parallel storylines, tells us of a young life under the sky, fighting to stay alive and desperately waiting to be rescued. Such shared  experiences and stories leave deep scars; the indelible traces of the traumatic experience will remain in the subconscious forever.

We wanted to complete the shooting of Enkaz before our passion starts to fade and we began thinking of the difficulty of being able to find money or sponsorship to complete the film. In order to achieve this, we chose an alternative production model.

First of all, we chose our crew from amongst friends and colleagues we had been frequently working with on different projects. With a higher turnover rate but less shooting hours per person, we scheduled the team accordingly. When we completed our Must Have list, we were ready to shoot and everything went smoothly with few problems. We were able to finish the shoot fairly rapidly.

This is not merely a dramatic story about two people suffering the effects of a natural disaster - in this case, an earthquake. It is a very important story for the director. who felt he had to respond in the best way he could to the things that are important to him in Turkey and in his life. It is a time of need to consolidate and stand up for important things long neglected.

Şu anda post-prodüksiyon sürecindeyiz ve filmimizi bitirebilmek için özel efektler, ses miksajı ve renk tasarımını tamamlamamız gerekiyor.

Enkaz altında geçen hikayemizin beklenilen etkiye ulaşması ve seyirciye aktarmak istediğimiz duyguların daha net hissedilmesi için post-prodüksiyon büyük önem taşıyor. 

Filmimiz için önem taşıyan bazı uluslararası platformalara gidebilmek, festivallere katılmak, bu yolda alacağımız danışmanlıklar için finansmana ihtiyacımız olacak. 

Vereceğiniz destek filmimizin aşağıdaki post-prodüksiyon işlemlerinin gerçekleşmesini ve nihayet seyirciyle buluşmasını sağlayacak.

We are currently in post production. In order to complete the film, we have to do: special effects, mixing, sound and colour grading.

Post-production has another important role: to transmit emotions to the audience in the right way and at the right time in order to get the anticipated reactions we hoped for in Under the Sky, which is a movie with its central location under debris. 

We need financial support quickly and urgently because we are racing against time to enter this for festivals. We have had overwhelmingly positive feedback and encouragement from professionals in the industry and from those who have seen extracts and images..

Your contribution will go directly towards vital post-production work which will bring out the essential flavour of the film.
