Family or Freedom?

"Enmeshed"  follows the story of a son enmeshed in the shadow of his mob-tied father and how he adapts to his ways and sets out to find his own life to be proud of. Fed-up Gino Leonetti finds himself caught up in his father’s schemes and is faced with a decision: Either to conform to his father’s “family” lifestyle, or to break out of this generational curse and start a life of his own. Amy, the comforting local stripper and convenience store clerk, continuously enables Gino’s vices and coaxes him to devise a way to rob her place of work escaping his impending initiation into the mob life.

Meet The Team

Chris Corradino  - Director, Writer, & Producer  

Chris Corradino is a writer and director who has directed both narrative and non-fiction short films. Until I’m Wrong (2018), a 9-minute narrative film revolving around the struggles of being a teen. Chris has also directed a nonfiction piece called, An interview with P Double (2019), where Chris conducts a sit-down Q & A with upcoming rap star P Double. 

Chris has also continued to build his experience working at Sparkz Network, where he worked as a producer and editor and at The Food Network as Assistant Camera.

Rianne Pyle - Producer 

Rianne Pyle is a writer and director who has directed two short documentaries. Rockstar, Producer, TankGod, Studio Session (2017) a 10 min doc about Tank God a 10 x Platinum hip hop producer, she debuted the film at the Ways of Seeing showcase. Rianne also directed the documentary Vic Barrett: Youth Voice about Vic Barrett, a climate change activist, who is suing the United States government over their climate change policies which premiered at the School of Visual Arts’ documentary showcase, Someone You Know. Additionally, Rianne has directed three short narrative films entitled Unfolding a Memory (2020), Burning (2019), and Mask (2017), ranging in length from 4 - 10 minutes.

Jonathan Bain - Director of Photography 

Jonathan Bain is a director, Producer,  DP, and editor who has directed both narrative, non-fiction short films, and music videos. Worked with artists like G4 boyz, Dreamdoll, Eli Fross, Sleepy Hollow and more (2019-2020). Jon also was a partial  DP for narrative film “Theory of Brick City Music” Directed by Livingston S. (2019).

Jonathan bilt up his catalog of work by freelancing with companies like RedBull Music, Brooks Brothers, Rutgers University, as well as Directing more music videos in 2020.

Why is this film important? 

Throughout my journey as a multi-media artist, I have been blessed with the opportunity to experience various different environments and lifestyles. I have come across people of the highest highs and lowest lows and wish to share the stories and emotions of everyday life. I have learned the importance of communication, and that the possibilities that come with choosing cinema to do so are limitless. 

It is through this film that I wish to give a glimpse into the all too real world of someone who almost did not get to choose how his life panned out. However, he made use of his background and advanced past it. We will see how this character copes with the neglect of his father, get tired of his therapeutic indulgences and the lengths he will go to to achieve mental and physical liberation he has been longing for.
