About Eternally Mad
Eternally Mad is a film following a group of diverse individuals who have lost hope in themselves and the world around them.
Glenn, an innocent eight-year old boy, the only character who has not lost hope, tries to understand the people closest to him. He wants to comprehend what it’s like to feel hopeless after his older sister, Jaime, attempts suicide.
Jaime is a young woman suffering from a dark past, hanging on to life by a thread, and searching for a reason to live. Having been sexually abused as a child, Jaime finds it impossible to trust and find love in anyone. The one person she wants to turn to but can never seem to get close to is her mother, Clara.
Clara makes up for her own unhappy marriage and familial troubles through indulging in affairs and chasing after stardom. She goes through life pretending everything is fine, while deep down, knowing that it’s not. She finds herself competing for her daughter’s love with Annie, a woman who miraculously is there when Jaime attempts suicide.
Annie, married and a mother of two, desires something to live for. Through helping someone else, she is able to help herself by escaping from her mundane life. As she becomes more invested, she finds herself dealing with feelings of guilt.
Glenn confides in his nervous therapist, Rupert, and his timid babysitter, Audrey, searching to know if everyone is destined to be crazy.
In the end of the film, we are given a sense of hope in knowing that life can continue even in the darkest of times.
Our Timeline and Goal
We are currently in both principal and post-production. The footage is being edited as it is being shot. We will be shooting the remainder of the film from late May to early June, with a goal of screening Eternally Mad in late June and holding a limited theatrical premiere in the summer.
With this film, it is our intention to give hope to those that feel hopeless in the world. We want people to understand that they are not alone in their thoughts. This is a character and actor driven film, with three strong female leads whose characters must come to terms with situations that are often dealt with in today's society.
The cinematography, production design, sound design, and music are very important to the story-telling in this film. They are meant to mirror the emotions of the characters. The film is dark and highly stylized in order to reflect the inner turmoils of the mind.
How You Can Help
We are committed to completing this film and doing the best job we possibly can to tell this beautiful story. Our total projected budget is $5000. We have shot over half of the film so far, on the RED camera, with our own funds totaling over $2000, but we are still in need of your help for the remainder in order to complete principal photography and post-production costs. This includes sound design, music composition, marketing, and festival distribution.
Your contribution would mean so much to our cast and crew. By backing our film, we pledge to credit you on screen and on the IMDB as a Producer or Special Thanks depending on the perk package you select. Even if you are not able to contribute financially, we could still use your support through your shares, blogs, and tweets linking to our campaign page and trailer. We appreciate any of your involvement to help us complete this film.
