EVERYTHING IS BORROWED

is about a vagabond woman, Melody, who lives in vacation homes that she breaks into when they are abandoned in the off-season. Melody lives by the philosophy of taking only what she needs, never leaving her mark or putting down roots too deep, fixing up the homes that she breaks into as an unspoken payment to the homeowners. In her old beater van, she drives across the United States from vacation home to vacation home, breaking in and living there until it’s time to go.  Her plan to live as a ghost is interrupted when a homeowner, Nick, shows up unexpectedly during one of her stays and she is forced to deal with the things from which she has been running...

THE FILMMAKERS

We (HE/SHE) are Lulu Brud and Justin Zsebe, a husband-wife storytelling duo from Los Angeles who have worked together on many different artistic platforms. "Everything is Borrowed" is hopefully just the beginning of our adventures in filmmaking together.

We recognize that in filmmaking there can be a lot of waste--from equipment, to craft services, water, electricity, trash...you get the point. It has become clearer and clearer that we are living in a world of finite resources and we have to start getting creative with the things we have. In an effort to re-imagine and re-define the way we work, we are stripping down the production to the bare bone essentials, using the things we have at our fingertips to tell a beautiful story. 

We have been offered this beautiful house in which to shoot our film in April...now we just have to get there and tell a story...

We are asking for $20,000 to help make EVERYTHING IS BORROWED a reality. If we raise more than our goal, which would be incredible, the "extra" resources will be used in the same conservative fashion as our original amount. Your contribution will help us bring this dream into the world, and this is how we plan on using it:

We can't bring everyone along on the adventure with us, but we want you to feel like you were there!  By contributing to our campaign you will be receiving pieces of the storytelling magic...postcards from us on our travels, salvaged treasures from the journey, hand made dream catchers made by Lulu that will be featured in the film, and a week-long vacation at the North Carolina beach house in which EVERYTHING IS BORROWED will be shot. 

The best thing about Indiegogo is that even if we don't quite hit our goal, we still make whatever funds we raise. $20K will do miracles in helping us tell this story, but we will always do what we can with what we have!
