The original Exen Mini was a huge success, but due to its small size we could only fit 8x I/O pins onto it, therefore we listened to our customers and got to work on a slightly larger, much more prototype friendly development board.. The Exen Proto!

The Exen Proto from Nerdonic is a small 32-bit microcontroller compatible with arduino and breadboard development. It's small and powerful with a 48MHz clock with 256KB ROM, 32KB RAM and 20 pins filled with functionality.

Measuring just 14.9x29.8mm at 1.1 grams, the Exen Proto is small as well as powerful. For size comparison is a UK 5 Pence coin (Equivalent size to a US Dime).

How The Exen Proto Compares

Other versions of the Exen line are planned and the circuits are being designed, for example a full modular ecosystem for use anywhere from commercial to industrial (that's all we can say for now until it's released) and an even smaller version of the Exen Mini using mini pin headers (1.27mm pitch), although not standard breadboard compatible, it can be used in projects that space is critical.
There is also a number of addons that will fit the Exen line with the first being a Li-Ion/Li-Po charge and discharge shield that can be charged by either the power pin or the USB port on the Exen Proto and previous Exen Mini boards
This is just the beginning. The aim for Nerdonic is to produce and deliver quality products to the world while pushing the boundaries.
