Why I've decided to make this film?
The second time I asked God to give me cancer, I was in room number 6. It was the number of the room at Serenity Hospice, in Dublin, GA, where my Mom died. I was praying to God to give me my Mom’s battle. As many of you know, cancer is a tough competitor and I was sick of seeing my Mom lose. The first time I asked God, I was fourteen years old. My Mom had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought with breast cancer on and off for 27 years, finally losing her battle in June of 2010.
As my mother’s fight was nearing it’s end, our family was dealt a sucker punch. My Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. Our minds went reeling. We were numb. My Dad put up a good fight and lasted 6 months longer than anticipated. He died in June of 2011.
As you can imagine, this loss has had a profound effect on me. And this is why I am making this film.
What is the film about?
I’m exploring what cancer is, why we get it, and how we prevent it. And I’m presenting the information to the viewer, so YOU can decide the best course of action. I want this film to empower cancer patients and their families and ultimately provide them hope.
Why me? I don’t have an agenda. I’m not selling anything. I’m not trying to grab your attention with sensational words like “breakthrough” or “cure” like they do on the nightly news. I’m not pushing a drug or nutrition plan. I’m a very committed guy asking questions and getting REAL answers.
What will I find? I’m continuing my journey across this country (maybe even world) as I talk with the experts - doctors, researches, biologists, and patients. I’ve already interviewed and met some amazing people who’ve shared amazing stories and information. And I plan on meeting a ton more, but I can’t do it without your help.

Funding
I began production on this documentary in April 2011 and have been funding the film out-of-pocket, working on it between jobs. I want to get funding so I can finally fulfill the promise I made to myself and others who have generously given their time so far during production.
What happens if we don't reach the goal? The film will still get made but it will take much longer. Any funds will be spent on the most crucial aspect of the documentary which is production (traveling and getting the interviews).
What happens if we surpass the goal? Any extra funds would be split between a cancer charity deemed acceptable by the donor community and distribution of the film - submitting to film festivals, marketing, and special screenings.
What happens if the completed film makes money? This is a not-for-profit venture. If this documentary were ever to actually make money, all profits would go to a cancer charity deemed acceptable by the donor community.
