The Cause
Professor Elliot has spent significant time volunteering in orphanages around the world. When he learned of Lumos and the work they are doing, it was an immediate fit.
Teaming up with Kristiaan Barrick from Tilted Fox Productions, he wanted to create an event to raise both funds and awareness. Since Lumos was founded by J.K Rowling, what's better than a wizarding feast?
The Event
Fantastic Feasts & Where to Find Them: Live
October 22nd, 12 - 4 p.m.
Stone Church Brewing, 2785 Cabot Dr, Ste 160, Corona, California 92883
Walk into the wizarding world to meet vendors, have a wizarding portrait drawn, take magical pictures before sitting down with your house to enjoy a feast. Professor Elliot and Kristiaan--along with two special guests--will be trying obscure wizarding delicacies.
Our goal is to donate $5,000 to the Lumos Foundation to help end the institutionalization of children.
The Impact
Lumos was founded in 2005 to end the institutionalization of children, working towards the ambitious but achievable goal of ending the institutionalisation of children worldwide by 2050.
As of 2014, Lumos has:
- Supported 12,000 children to move from harmful institutions to families or supported independent living
- Saved the lives of more than 430 children suffering from malnutrition, severe neglect or a lack of access to medical treatment
- Trained 15,000 social workers, medical professionals, teachers, carers, civil servants and policy makers
