Mission Statement:
Fantastic Stories of the Imagination was revived with the intent of providing readers with great free science fiction and fantasy short stories, while paying writers as much as possible for original stories. We believe that short fiction is the life blood of genre fiction.
Fantastic Stories endeavors to be inclusive; writers of all genders, sexual orientations, religions, and races are equally welcome here.
Our goal with this campaign is to help insure our ability to publish high quality science fiction and fantasy, while paying our writers and columnists one of the highest rates available in today’s marketplace. We also want to continue offering our content free (for one month) on the web, providing our writers a showcase for their considerable talents. Readership has grown with each of our first seven monthly issues.
Fantastic Stories of the Imagination is edited by Warren Lapine, who has been nominated for the Hugo, World Fantasy, and Chesley awards. In the last twenty years he has been the publisher or editor of
Weird Tales,
Realms of Fantasy,
Absolute Magnitude,
Dreams of Decadence,
Fantastic Stories, and a number of other magazines and anthologies.
Even if you can’t donate right now, we appreciate your help in sharing this campaign with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites.
