Overview
A patriotic “Grumpy Old Men!” Join us in the making of the feature film CAPTURE THE FLAG, a poignant comedy about two US Korean War Vets who enlist their elderly neighbors in a spirited game of 'capture the flag' to determine who wins the privilege of raising Old Glory in their retirement community every morning. During the game the Vets discover -- and heal -- a shared haunted battlefield memory as they find in each other the courage to soldier on.

CAPTURE THE FLAG honors America's 21 million US Veterans and will star Dick Van Dyke, Louis Gossett Jr., John Amos, Rance Howard, Paul Dooley and Barry Corbin.

A few years back, twin brothers Adam Montierth & Donovan Montierth wrote, produced and directed a nine-minute short film that changed many lives. The Emmy-Award winning “REVEILLE” started out as a tribute to their grandfather and starred film and American Forces Veteran’s David Huddleston and James McEachin.  It became a viral sensation with over five million views on YouTube and Google Video.  Reveille went on to win 20 film festival awards AND two prestigious Emmys.  It screened at over 50 film festivals and aired on The Pentagon Channel and the American Forces Network.

What is "Capture The Flag"?

CAPTURE THE FLAG is a feature-length film script based on the short film.

Here’s the story: Grumpy Navy Veteran James Donovan lives in a retirement community, and his only real pleasure in life is raising the flag every morning in the community courtyard. His routine is interrupted when the ever-cheerful Lou Addison, a retired Army veteran, moves in across the way and challenges James for the right to hoist the flag. A humorous rivalry begins and, after a series of escalating pranks, the two rivals decide to settle the score with a no-holds barred camp game of ‘capture the flag.’ They each recruit a team of feisty seniors to determine the winner -- but not before they come to terms with their own regrets, fears, and losses in this funny, heart-warming script about rivalry, respect, sacrifice and friendship.

A Welcomed Tribute:

The film is dedicated to everyone who serves and has served in the US Armed Forces. This includes the friends and families of the soldiers. To those of you we can only say… Thanks!
