Feminist as What?!
Feminist AF is the work of Pia Alize and Malathi Jogi, originally published online as "Custom Cuts". It's a 32pg comic exploration of feminism today, and why it's important for our feminism to be international + intersectional.

Why comics?
Well, that's what we do. They're fast, fun and easy to read. Over the past few years, Ad Astra Comix (that's us!) has published eight comics projects dealing with different social justice themes. Feminist AF is our next project, and we're excited to bring a simple and affordable comic about feminism to the public at large!
...That's where you come in! We're a small publisher and we rely on pre-order campaigns to finance our print runs. By supporting this crowdfunder, you'll be helping us print hundreds --hopefully thousands of copies. We want to see this accessable and affordable feminist comic find its way into classrooms, cafes and bookstores across the continent. In this way, you'll be helping carry on the conversation about what it means to be feminist.

Helping us get there
Like we said, We need your help! Publishing comics is a resource-intensive project, and lots of unpaid hours go into making each of our books happen - from promotional work to layouts, to our shipping parties. Reaching our goal all helps us breath a little easier as we make these projects happen!
Here's what you can do:
- Order yourself a copy of the comic (or two. Yea, maybe two).
- Do you think your feminist pals would be into this project? Let them know about it!
- While you're at it, share this like you would a viral news story about Trump saying something appalling. (If we could get a share for every 100 Trump-horrorshares, we'd be fully funded by the time you finished reading this!)
Why Should You Support FAF?

Risks & Challenges
All publishing projects have their risks and challenges - usually, by the time a comic is going to print, the biggest risks and challenges have been settled! Feminist AF is such a project: the comics are finished and the book is ready to go to print.
Our goal is always: run a campaign in the black. Books printed by larger publishers can reach deep into their pockets and run book production at a loss until the title is able to be sold in the store. We don't have that kind of luxury; instead, we use a more democratic model (crowdfunding!) to get the job done. ...Hey, thanks to you, that is!
In order to print this comic and make sure our creators get their copies sent / royalties paid, we want to reach our goal of $3,500. The only risk we face is not making this goal (which is unlikely given the range of our previous crowdfunders). But if we do not, we will simply lower the print-run and take a small profit loss on the sales of the book moving forward. The short answer to the question of this risk is: we've gone to print with every project we've ever run.

Ad Astra Comix is Its Support Network
Remember: every comic we print is crowdfunded! That means that nothing goes to print without popular demand and support. It's with help from you - friends, family, comrades - that we make cool projects like Feminist AF possible! <3
