Festival 23:
Convergence of Disco
...the weekend of 23rd July 2016
...at a secret outdoor
location in the north of England
An interactive
celebration of literature and the arts; of theatre, playshops and
music inspired by the Discordian movement; a society of philosophers,
theologians, magicians, scientists, artists, clowns and similar
maniacs who are intrigued with Eris, Goddess of Confusion, and with
her doings.
Inspired by the Cosmic Trigger play and the associated Conferestival, we like to think that Festival 23 is an (il)logical progression of that wonderful weekend and we want NotWork 23 to be a means of keeping those connections together.

We've already got a fantastic group of co-conspirators on board with activists, artists, comedians, musicians, poets, puppeteers and writers squeezing their creative juices into our collective psychedelic cocktail. From the sublime to the ridiculous.
Sound
fun? Interesting? Enlightening?
We
hope so and we want you involved. Yes, that's right, YOU!
The matter of making magic
The aim of Festival
23 is not just to hold a party in the open air, but to realise and
strengthen a burgeoning grassroots network of Discordians, to
re-connect the others and grow the Rotten Apple Corps. To embrace the
chaos of a collective, empower one another in our creative
endeavours. To entertain, encourage and to support each other in
challenging our own reality tunnels. Then maybe we'll start an annual
party to celebrate us coming, and remaining, together.

Wherever
you are around this wonderful globe you can help get this shit off the
ground. There's lots of ways you can support the birthing of this
beautiful beast and we've some splendiferous perks to reward your
support.
Festival 23 will be
like no other. Not only will it
be a not-for-profit endeavour, but most importantly, Festival 23 will
be owned, designed and managed by the people who participate. Through
NotWork 23 (like a network, just more fun), every committed member
will have an equal voice, an equal say and an equal stake in Festival
23. £23 a year opens the door and allows you to become a co-creator
of a truly unique happening. How good will that
feel? To feel ownership of something magic – something HEROIC.
What's in it for you? What's in it for me?

This is a litmus test. A temperature check.
We are committed to making something special happen on the weekend of the 23rd July 2016, but exactly what happens will be determined by the interest, skills, creativity and resources of the people in the room. Of the people in NotWork 23.
Throw your hat in the ring by pledging to support our campaign and we'll know we're on the right track. Throw YOURSELF into the ring by pledging £23 or more and becoming a member of NotWork 23, and you can help to lay the track, set its direction and maybe even design and build your own station on the route.

And you can get cool badges and t-shirts and books and all that shit too.
The more that we raise through this campaign, the bigger our ambitions for Festival 23 can be. We've put a fundraising target of £5,000, but it could just as easily have been £23,000. Even if we reach our target, you can keep giving, knowing that the extra funds will help us make things bigger and better and, even more importantly, will help us to keep ticket prices as low as possible so that those who have little will still be able to jump in with both feet.
And if we don't make our target? We'll put on an equally magical, HEROIC event for a smaller group of people. Everyone's a winner.
So what next?
Get involved. Support the birth by joining Notwork23, you'll be fundamental, (the good sort of fundamental), in empowering similar souls and encouraging like-minds. Come to our WOW POW in November to help to design Share this campaign and make sure the right people KNOW.
Tell them... Come on in. The waters lovely.
Tell them... Come in number 23, your time is up.
Hail Eris!
