Wir sind eine Bande begeisterter Filmemacher und haben diesmal irgendwie alles andersherum gemacht. Zuerst arbeiteten wir an den Kostümen und Figuren.      Dann kam nach und nach die Geschichte hinzu.                                                                      Mit der Zeit hat uns das Ganze so gut gefallen, dass wir beschlossen haben einen Kinofilm daraus zu machen.                                                                                                     Jetzt sind wir dabei mit viel Phantasie und Liebe zum Detail dieses Herzensprojekt umzusetzen.

We're a bunch of filmmakers and this time, we've decided to change things up a bit: we started the project by creating the characters and costumes, building a story around them. We enjoyed the story so much that we decided to make a feature film. 
Now we're in the middle of shooting the film, aided by heaps of imagination and a keen eye for detail.

THE STORY

Virginia, ein neugieriges Mädchen mit Jeansrock und Notizbuch taucht unverhofft in eine fremde Parallelwelt ein; die der „Fiesen Mienen”: Sie wohnen im Untergrund und sind eine skurrile Bande abstruser Persönlichkeiten: Da gibt es eine schüchterne Affenfrau, einen lebensmüden Philosophen, eine schick gekleidete Schamanin und einen radikalen Mitläufer und dann ist da noch der coole Fox, der Virginia ziemlich imponiert… Als jedoch durch ihr Verschulden ein wichtiges Bandenmitglied verschwindet, gerät alles aus dem Ruder. Es beginnt eine wilde Reise, auf der sich das junge mädchen durch Abenteuer, Liebe und auch Ablehnung kämpft – ein Roadtrip voller Überraschungen!

The Film tells the story of  the "Fiesen Mienen" ("The Mean Grimace"), a group of eccentric individuals who live beneath the earth. One day a girl shows up, driven to the Fiese Mienen by her insatiable curiosity . Her arrival sets the group on a path of chaos and disarray. After she causes a member to disappear, the group set off in search of him. It is to be an odyssey of wonder and uncertainty, along a road untouched by the world, as behind every door a new world awaits them.

Wir sind junge Filmemacher aus München, die es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht haben, einen unabhängigen Kinofilm mit wenig Geld, aber dafür mit viel Eigeninitiative und Leidenschaft zu drehen.                                                                                                                Wir möchten zeigen, was man mit gebündelter Energie und Einsatz alles erreichen kann.

We're young filmmakers from Munich, who have joined up to shoot an independent feature film in the coming two years. Everyone provides their own energy and ideas, in order to create a compelling and interesting project. As a result of this we utilise a comic-like script, granting room for new ideas and concepts.

THE REALISATION

Um eine Parallelwelt zu erzählen, haben wir uns auf die Suche nach interessanten Orten begeben. Neben beeindruckenden, realistischen Schauplätzen gibt es auch immer wieder weltfremde, selbstgebastelte Miniaturwelten, die wir mit bunten Kristallbäumen, Wattewölkchen oder Mini-Explosionen zum Leben erwecken.         So bekommt dieser Film seinen ganz eigenen Charme aus Action, Arthaus, Sciencefiction und Märchen.

Our restrictions have become our muse, using each opportunity given to us. As a result of which, we have managed to find many exciting and unique locations, aiding us in creating new worlds. We film miniature landscapes and use these as our sets. Cotton balls fill the sky above and grand explosions are mere fireworks, enlarged in post-production. This grants the film its very own aesthetic and charm,  a film unlike any other.
