Summary
The huge problems faced by wildlife and the natural environment are well known. But all too often, the approach of film makers has been to show only the 'Doom-and-Gloom'. This can lead to a sense of personal helplessness and a feeling of "what's the point". Some film makers have gone the other way and shown only a very 'pretty' version of the world. We want to make a unique film about the enormous problems faced by natural systems, but to do this by showing what is being done to solve some of the many environmental issues we face - it's not too late !! This will be the story (both good and bad) of CONSERVATION.
We are a team of passionate conservation practitioners, ecologists and film makers with the required range of skills and knowledge to make this unique 2-part film series. There has never been a film like this. And with your help, once the film is made, we will distribute it 'ethically' - free to networks around the world and in developing countries.
Why 'Fifty thousand voices for CONSERVATION' ?
We want fifty thousand people to make a small donation to have a BIG effect. By donating to the making of our unique film, you will be contributing towards: (1) scripting and pre-production, (2) travel to interview a range of people, communities and organisations, (3) editing and post-production, (4) purchase of additional film material e.g. specific habitats and landscapes, (5) translation into six languages, and (6) ethical distribution.

Impact of the film
The film will move global perceptions away from the normal 'impending disaster' view of the world. Whilst we will not shy away from extremely difficult narratives, the film will tackle these issues in a positive way, show-casing a range of local, national and international solutions.
As well as helping to fund the CONSERVATION film, we will use your donation to act as leverage for the production of a book of the film. This will also be ethically distributed to provide an accessible (and beautiful) record of the key issues in the film.
Risks & challenges
With over 30 years experience in the conservation sector and film/television industry, our highly skilled project team have the knowledge and creativity to mange the risks and challenges of this unique project. The key risk is the level of funding achieved. To address this, we have created a 'sliding scale' project budget so we can produce a film in different ways e.g. making the film in one part rather than two. The key challenge will be telling the central story in a succinct, non-preachy, highly accessible way whilst not be drawn into the doom-and-gloom approaches of other films. There are many positive stories to tell from around the world and we will have to make hard choices about what to put in and what to leave out!!
