The Film
Finding Dad is centered around a young man named Jack who seeks validation from his father who abandoned him, leaving him nothing but a note, at the age of nine. The modern world, and its means of communication, further distances Jack from genuine interaction and connection. Finally, after tracking his father down with the help of a private investigator, will Jack finally get the closure and connection he seeks to move on?
Finding Dad brings to light many of the social barriers that are created by advances technology. The more we
communicate through texts messages and the internet, the
further it seems we get from genuine human interaction. Jack
symbolizes the isolation and loneness this dis-connect makes. We hope as creators to create a film that is successful at showing how the lack of genuine
interaction can cause a lot of pain and undue frustration.
Finding Dad is our senior capstone film as part of Montana State University's film and photography program. This film provides students in the program hands-on experience with the art and business of film-making as well as the opportunity to create a meaningful film for the masses.

What We Need
We're not gonna lie, making a movie isn't cheap. Aside from the common expenses that come from making a film (actors & camera), there's many other things to consider when making a short film. Many of those things include:
- Actor Services (actor payment & special needs)
- Camera, Lenses, and Lights
- Production Design
- Locations and Permits
- Transportation of Crew and Gear
- Food and Craft Services for Cast and Crew
- Expendables, Petite Cash, and Contingencies
- The Unknown!
As creatives who are about to launch themselves in the film industry, we want to make the best absolute film possible with the funds that we have. We would be lying by saying in order to do this that the change in our pockets (that we would normally use to buy Ramen in bulk) isn't gonna cut it.
As a contributor you have the opportunity not just to donate, but to be a part of this amazing journey that we're undertaking. Many of the perks that we're offering allow you to follow us as we complete this film via email updates, production photos, production photos, Behind the Scenes, etc. To top it all off, you can see the final product in it's entirety for only a $20 donation!

Final Thoughts
For many of us, this will be the last film that we can collaborate on as film students before our graduation. If anything we want to leave our mark at MSU's film program and leave a lasting impression that promotes the department as well as prepares all of us for our filmmaking careers. You don't how much your contributions mean to us, and for that we are forever grateful for helping us out on any level!
Stay classy Bozeman!
