How it began...
Fizzle is originally a play by Gilbert Girion, who was invited by Robert Woodruff at The Bay Area Playwrights Festival to attend an Invited Writers Workshop led by Sam Shepard. The following year, Girion was invited back to the festival as Playwright-In-Residence. In addition to Palm 90, which he co-wrote, he wrote and directed Fizzle.
Fizzle was later done at The West Bank Cafe in New York City. It was very well received and brought back by popular demand. Among the other very fine actors, Julianne Moore had the distinguished role of Simply The Maid.
Enter Ingrid Saxon (Producer, Actress, Singer & Vocal Instructor) who is very familiar with Girion's work and who longed to produce Fizzle as a film. She tapped the incredible Jeremiah Kipp to direct and assembled a stellar team of actors that began with Peter Friedman, Geoffrey Owens, Caitlin O'Connell and James Strouse. Following that she enlisted Steve Coats, Marisa Brau, Jennifer Plotzke and herself to round out the cast!
The team raised money to complete Stage 1 of the process: principal photography! We had a very successful shoot for Fizzle and are so excited to put all the pieces together in the shape of a film!
That's where you come in! We are now entering Stage 2 of the process: post production! We are raising money now to help us pay for all the things that need to happen AFTER you shoot the film. We have to edit, color-correct, mix sound and score the film! We truly believe in the power of this film and know that once it's completed, it's going to be a beautiful, unique story. We can't wait to share it with the world!
What We Need & What You Get
Our goal is to raise $7,000 to complete Fizzle. The funds we raise will cover editing the film and color-correcting (this enhances the overall visual quality of the film). We also need to hire a sound engineer and a composer. What good is a film without a great score? All of these will make Fizzle the absolute best it can be. And once it's complete, we can take it out for a spin on the Film Festival circuit!
