Stevie’s Crazy Garage (SCG) is
fanatical about providing high performance parts and quality knowledge transfer
videos. With the development of the FlatFast Crankshaft™ kit, SCG will move the
automotive street and racing communities into the realm of obtainable European
sport car performance and sound zone. What is needed now is a very light weight
and strong body shell.
SCG is going to
build carbon fiber replacement panels starting with the 1970 Mustang
Fastback. The garage fully intends to
shave 20 to 30% off the weight of the car.
The new products will be called FlatFast Carbon Fiber Panels. Why does SCG want to do this? Well, the answer is pure physics. The less a thing weighs the less work is
needed to move the thing. Racing has
always been about improving the power to weight ratio. Carbon Fiber (CF) component based body shells
will allow the American racer and street fanatics to improve this ratio. The garage intends to start small by
producing CF hoods, fenders, fender extensions, doors, and trunk lids to start.
As the company grows or stretch goals
are met, SCG will add quarter panels, floor pans, required braces, and roofs. At this point and once licensing is procured, the garage will add a CF
fabricator to assemble the components into complete shells for the racing consumer. During this same period, SCG will add the 71
Cuda, 68, 69, and 70 Camaro components and shells based on demand.
The components will be manufactured
in America by the highest quality CF manufactures. SCG will ensure the weaves match and provide the
exact part mount points as used by the original manufactures. The components must work with the host of aftermarket
parts available for these era muscle cars.
SCG will use the same construction methods used to build the Koenigsegg
and McLaren super-cars for strength and safety.
For the garage there can be no failures at speed due to inferior quality
parts.

SCG has already designed the
specifications for the CF components. Small
styling changes will be made to make the CF components unique to SCG. The garage will obtain original OEM
components for fitment and mold manufacture.
The starting parts will be built for a 1970 Boss 302 show car. Since the cars body cannot be cut or weld to
change its shape due to its rarity, the hood, doors, fenders, fender extensions,
and trunk lid will be built. If
contribution stretch goals are achieved, a 70 Mustang steel shell will be
purchased and modeled for molds to complete a component build set. The show car, as it sits now, will be cataloged photographically and disassembled. The car will need extensive
repairs---mechanical and body shell. The
car will be corrected and readied for target component fitment. The fitted components will then be delivered
to the CF manufactures for the mold process to take place. While this is being done, the car will be
test fitted with new Pro-Touring style parts and readied for paint. This car will also be fitted with a FlatFast
Crankshaft Boss engine. When the CF
parts return, the car will be painted and assembled. Although the Boss 302 is a marketing piece,
the car will participate in the Texas Mile and other noteworthy races. The
garage also intends to show the car at SEMA.
The goal is market the product as actionable, survivable, and available. Once SCG quality and performance standards
are met, the components will be marketed as SCG FlatFast Carbon Fiber Panels. The target for release is late 2016.

SCG is not the only company
producing CF components and have been doing so for 3 or 4 years.
But to your knowledge no one is producing a
full shell. Of course all we all could
rush out and by a McLaren, Koeingsegg, or Lamborghini with a CF panels and monocoque
chassis. Oh wait, that is why the garage is doing this---To provide a
lightweight CF shell for the American racer.
As a result, American street and racing fanatics have been left out in
the cold. SCG’s goal is to change this
current status quo with a CF choice for street and racing fanatics. Your contributions will push a new American
based initiative on to the street and racing scene for the world. As a contributor to this game changer, you
are a team member at Stevie’s Crazy Garage.
Listed below are the perks for being a valued member of the team. But first let’s talk about the contribution
target and stretch goals. The target
goal for this crowdfunding paradigm shift is $280,000. This will cover the development of the
components, building of the Boss, awards, fees, and taxes for the campaign. This contribution level will also place FlatFast
Carbon Fiber Panels into the SCG inventory for several weeks.
You can see from the above graph
that a full 30% of the contributions go to overhead. Given the cost of any business endeavor this
amount is very fair and SCG is covered for taxes for the 2016 year due to the
late time of year for ordering and processing components that do not yet exist.

SCG considers contributors to this
campaign to be part of the race team.
Therefore, it only makes sense to setup the award levels in terms of the
jobs required by a successful automotive racing team. This is also the focus in the FlatFast
Crankshaft Kit project. SCG created 18
levels and 3 with options. Stevie did
not want the awards to be the standard type of fair. Great intent went into selecting the type of
award that would make since to the racing enthusiast. The quality of the award had to meet the
standards of the garage. SCG was
determined to award a higher quality item for its team members. Here are the
awards broken into groups and then by contribution level.

The target contribution goal of $280,000
is a significant challenge, but it will change the options that street and
racing fanatics have for strong lightweight components. This section describes
basic and stretch goals beyond the target.
SCG calls anything below the target contribution a basic goal. At whatever amount this maybe, maximum CF
components will be the priority. Any
leftover contributions will be folded back into the growth of SCG as a company. The stretch goals are quite provocative. For Stretch Goal #1 and to produce the
planned parts and BOSS show car, the garage must grow in space. To reach a wider street and racing consumer
more FlatFast components and body shell kits need to be built, tested, and added
to the inventory. At this goal SCG will
be able to triple the size of the facility, and increase the level of
components to build a complete 70 Mustang CF body shell. Stretch Goal #2 will allow the garage to find
a custom CF builder at add the 65 and 68 body shells for the SCG customer
base. No longer would the customer need
to worry about the assembly of components for race or street use. For those customers, the CF shells would be
ready to build as shipped. Stretch Goal
#3 will add the Cuda and Camaro to the inventory list. At Stretch Goal #4, SCG will move into
producing race and street ready cars. SCG
will also branch out to design its own premiere race cars. At this point, SCG will need to bring on
engineers and builders to maintain the high quality that the garage expects.
Before Stevie's Crazy Garage builds its first complete body shell, the correct licensing will be procured from the holder of the trademark and copyright.

The
challenges that face a small garage with a big idea are tremendous. In this case, the capital required to do the
job correctly is high. SCG may only
receive some fraction of the requirement.
Stevie’s Crazy Garage will to do its best to achieve the maximum goals
with the contributed capital. The garage will not only do this for the
manufacture and testing of the CF panels, but for the contribution awards as
well.
Another
risk is creating panels that align properly may require more than one prototype. The look and feel of the carbon fiber weave
must also be correct. More prototypes
will take more time and increase the time to market of the components. However, with such high quality standards exhibited
by the garage, these possible delays will produce the best CF component. Where there is no risk is that SCG will
produce CF lightweight components with characteristics only seen in European
cars today.
The last risk is the procurement of the licenses from Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler to build the complete carbon fiber body shell. This has been done before, but it is a challenge. SCG believes the licenses will become a reality when the prototypes are presented to those holders.
Stevie’s
Crazy Garage intends to keep its community updated on the progress and news the
garage finds in the coming weeks and months.
The reward will be a product that has never been made available on the
American market. It will change the
paradigm for the American street and race car builder. Please join this amazing team today. If you can’t personally join, help us by
shaking the trees in your forest for people that would like to join.
