Goal

The goal of this documentary is to show that connections are essential in life and only betters the world around us.

This film at its core is exploring positive connections. We all need connections to live fuller and happier lives. In this particular film, we are exploring human and animal relationships. These are especially important because they always seem to be afterthoughts in our human ruled and dominated world. 

In the media, we are always shown the negatives of humans interfering with nature and wildlife. What are the benefits and effects of people connecting with animals and wildlife? 

Would this perspective actually create a large-scale impact for conservation?

Director's Statement

I have always craved connection. Growing up as a triplet (plus one year younger sister), I was constantly surrounded by my siblings. While we don’t play “shadow hunt” or host talent shows anymore, our bond has only gotten stronger in college. Having someone to bounce ideas off of or rant about our annoying roommates is essential to my life. If this connection is so important for humans, could it be just as vital for humans and animals?

In the media, we are always shown how humans negatively impact wildlife. I am exploring the positive side of the relationships between humans and animals through the lens of sea lions and trainers.
