We want to incorporate the Cuatro to the sound landscape of the whole world. To make it possible, we we will film a documentary which shows the tremendous versatility of the Cuatro and its sound possibilities in multiple genres. “Flying fish” will show this along with the work and virtuosity of Jorge Glem, Latin Grammy winner and one of the greatest exponents of the instrument, with whom we have promoted for a year a series of meetings, concerts and recitals, which have shown

• Why it is important.
We have started this campaign to cover the costs of filming, recording, and post production of “Flying fish”, a documentary that will reflect the power of the musical and artistic phenomenon that the Venezuelan Cuatro is making in the scenes of The Big Apple.
Whether it is merging the magnetic sound of the Cuatro with jazz, bebop, salsa, rock, american folk, exploring world repertoires, or in a classroom at a music academy for children, Glem's work has shown how there are no limits to the sound of the Cuatro. Its versatility generates awe and passion from the first moment you hear it.
“Flying fish” will range from interviews with international musicians, concert recordings, presentations, festivals, art classes and other encounters starring by Jorge Glem like one of current Cuatro players in NYC . It will reflect the impression and fascination that the Cuatro is causing on musicians, artists and new audiences from the United States and the rest of the world.
• What you can do for the movement.
We are in the presence of a unique moment, represented by “Flying fish”: the arrival of a new sound to thousands of people. The sound of the Cuatro is opening borders and uniting through its powerful vibration, the feeling, and musical repertoire of the five continents, from the liveliest city in the US.
The talent of one of its greatest exponents, opens the way, but does not direct it: this is an invitation to be a first row witness of a discovery. The air is not the same again after a Cuatro rings.
