I am so incredibly excited as we head into our second year of the Global Youth Leadership Initiative (GYLI) in Chiquila, Mexico, a project of Hands Offering Hope. If you aren’t familiar with our story, here is a brief video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEkLhoQDXPo) outlining who we are and what we do, and below are some amazing stats to give you an idea of how we’re not just changing the lives of the students in the Institute, but seeing far-reaching effects within the community, as well!
Together we have:
· Given 12 students from tough backgrounds a deeper sense of who they are and what their purpose is - and this has impacted a community of over 4,000
· Launched 10 incredible passion projects that span from caring for elderly to ecotourism job creation
· Developed strong partnerships with global experts around the world who are excited about the young people of Mexico and beyond
· Created a vision for a small fishing village to invest in their future generations, strategically addressing complex economic problems and education gaps.
This year we are pushing harder and going further, not only working with 12 new first year students, but we have also created a fellowship program for the top five 2015 first year students who excelled in the program last year. These students will be competing for scholarships, assisting teaching the first year students, and going deeper into the community for a more embedded outreach than ever before. I need your help to raise $5,000 of our $80,000 total cost for this year. Every cent raised goes directly to the organization.
Now, for the fun part: I’ve included a list of partnership levels here, but every dollar counts and no amount is too small. If you or your business are interested in matching donations, I would love to talk with you. I am personally providing and cooking every partner gift here because this is so important to me and to the community we serve. All meals and treats will be provided upon my return from Mexico in the end of July.
Thank you and I look forward to serving you, too!
With Love and Joy,
Liz
