About Football is Everywhere
Football is Everywhere is a highly visual collection of football stories from around the world, showcasing that football is everywhere in a form of a magazine, showcasing how much it impacts people’s lives, in many big and small ways, whether it’s a small town of 20 people managing to keep their club going, whether it’s the Faroe Islands where most of the population plays football, or whether it’s a 4,000 people town reaching the highest tier of football in Sweden. It’s a magazine created with the intention to honor the football communities and their efforts, around the world, that we intend to launch roughly every 3-4 months, depending on the complexity of the stories. ![]()
The first issue? It's based on the North of Sweden, the land where the sun almosts never sets in the summer, and where you won't see much light in the winter. We cover the stories of some of the most successful football teams in the North such as Umeå IK, covering their rise and downfall, while at the same time, covering the stories of much smaller teams, that most people probably never heard about, that reached their own successes, whether it was a town of just 2,000 people advancing to the top tier of Swedish football, or whether it's the story of the oldest active coach in Sweden (he's 85) who has been involved in the club he co-founded, for the past 70 years. ![]()
The second issue? It covers the rich culture of a tiny island of just 50,000 people which most people don't know the location of, with that being the Faroe Islands. This is a land that went from having sand pitches in the 80s to one of the most football-involved populations there is.
How did the idea come to be
Being involved in football in many different ways, we always saw the impact football had on people. But we haven’t seen the stories of that impact being told, almost anywhere. That’s when we decided to take things into our own hands, and how the idea for Football is Everywhere was born.
...With a little twist.
See, Football is Everywhere was originally meant to be a set of documentaries. At the time we were living in Italy in Naples so it made the most sense to make the first set about Capri. That was in March 2020. The day before we took the ferry to the island where we were to interview a team playing in Capri, the match got canceled...We still went and started shooting the documentary, shooting a set of interviews, but on the day we returned to Naples, the whole of Italy was in a full lockdown. That put a major hold on that project. And then a year later came the idea of replacing documentaries with a magazine. ![]()
What We Need & What You Get
We’ve done all the hard work. We’ve found the stories. We traveled to them and then told them in the most beautiful way possible, combining great stories with beautiful imagery that we took. We then had our designer Matt do his magic and convert it into possibly the most beautiful football magazine ever done.
...But naturally printing costs. And the way printers work, you need to print several thousand copies at once so that you can create something that is somewhat affordable. And that's why we've created this crowdfunding campaign. This €4000 will bring the project that we already made, to paper. It will kickstart this printing process while at the same time allowing us to work on the next issues of the magazine.![]()
About the Creators of the first issue:
PATO JERZAK
Pato Jerzak is currently a professional football player and also the person behind the idea of "Football is Everywhere". Having grown up in a privileged country (Sweden) where she never was stopped from playing football, knowing that in many countries it's not possible to play, especially for women, she is on a mission to change that. With this magazine, she wanted to show the beauty and importance of football in communities.
