FOR IZZY is a narrative feature drama that uses a documentary format and includes various mixed media, such as animation, iPhone, and GoPro footage.
Retired divorcee,
Anna, and her lesbian daughter, Dede, move next door to Peter, and his adult autistic daughter, Laura.
Dede, an unemployed photojournalist, wants to
prove that she can be responsible, but struggles with
addiction. Laura, who is high-functioning on the spectrum, yearns for independence from her over-protective father. After a rocky start, the two form an unlikely friendship.
Anna, a burnt out investment banker, finds companionship in Peter, a lonely accountant whose life revolves around his only daughter
Laura. Their unexpected romance brings lightness and energy back into their lives, giving them both a
second chance at love.
Old demons surface, and their relationships are tested. In the end, through an act of blind
courage, they overcome adversity to become a family.

The cast and crew have put in their blood, sweat and tears for this project because they believe in this story and its message.
In fact, writer-director Alex Chu sold his car earlier this year to help fund production of the film. Shooting completed in June 2016, and we need your help to get it through post-production and to the finish line.

As we head into post-production, we are aiming to secure the
resources needed to make this the highest quality film possible. That means bringing on similarly experienced professionals who believe
in this film as much as we do. It also means funding hard

Our cast and crew is comprised of highly experienced professionals. Every one of us has worked on feature films before FOR IZZY.
What we lack in traditional resources, we make up for in our knowledge from our previous experiences and know how.
The mixed media idea (we used professional and consumer cameras, as well as animation and
interviews) was conceived out of our lack of budget. A bigger budgeted production would probably have ended up shooting the original script traditionally, because they wouldn't have had to get as creative with cutting corners. We now consider this one of the film's strongest qualities.
We will get this film made, no matter what it takes. And we want YOU along for the ride!
