Overview
The Forest Gate Festival will only happen if we, the community, support it. The council used to give us a grant, but with all the cuts, that is no longer possible. This will be the 18th annual event - taking place on a summer Saturday every year since 2000. Osborne Road is closed to traffic for the day and filled with craft stalls, food, street entertainment, drumming, dancing, hula-hooping and thousands of people, young and old, having fun together.

The Festival is organised by local residents – all volunteers.  On the day itself, dozens of people get involved to make it happen.  The Festival brings people together, celebrates local talent and provides a fantastic day for all – with a climbing wall, children’s activities, music, stalls, food, street entertainment - and thousands of people.   The fact that it is a free event is crucial – we want everyone to be able to come along.   It costs around £7000 to organise – to pay for the stage, PA equipment, public liability insurance, music licensing, climbing wall, First Aid, posters, leaflets, street entertainers and performers.  We are able to raise about £1000 through stalls, and get a small ‘Lets Get The Party Started’ grant from Newham Council.  Two local housing associations make a donation and we raise a bit of money from local businesses.  This crowdfunding campaign is crucial – without these donations, the Festival cannot happen in 2017.

We also need to spread the word - please share this campaign with people you know!  Even if you cant contribute, please do tell others - we need all the help we can get to reach our target of £3000.
