About Us
FRC Team 3739 Oakbotics is made up of dedicated and ambitious high school students who have shown their interest in the STEM subjects through FIRST. Each year we participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), in which high school students design, build and program a 120 lb robot in six weeks. Participating in this event is an expensive endeavor; from fundraising,designing, building, programming and then competing. That’s why we’re reaching out for your financial support.
What We Do
While our main focus is to build a robot for competition, we strive to improve ourselves and the community around us. In our community; we inspire the younger generations to appreciate the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Team outreach has included robot demos at Elementary Schools, Cubs and Beaver Troops, Delaware Speed-way, Nuit Blanche and many more. FIRST Robotics Competition
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition. Each year, teams of high school students and mentors around the world work during a six week period to design, build and program the game-playing robots. Robots complete tasks such as scoring balls into goals and balancing on balance beams. The game changes yearly, keeping the excitement fresh and giving each team a more level playing field. Your Support
This year we are continuing our efforts to run Oakbotics in the community, and we are planning to compete in FIRST Robotics District events in London at Western University and at Waterloo University. Money, however, is especially tight this year for our team, and your support would help us cover the cost of registration, purchase parts for our robot and buy office supplies for our team. We have a very dedicated and very excited team who is really looking forward to competing and your support will help us be successful!
Funding Goals
While our goal is $2,000, we need to raise:
-$7,500: To cover our registration fees and a kit of basic robot parts
-$1,500: Enables us to build a competitive robot with depth sensing cameras, pneumatics and much more.
