Fun With Hackley: Axe Murderer is a comedy film about lifelong masked serial killer, Hackley.  Much like Jason Voorhees and Michael Meyers, Hackley has been killing teens who "break the rules" for decades.  Like them, he has died and been resurrected dozens of times.  But unlike them... he's feeling down.  He's going through a mid-life crisis.

Hackley doesn't just kill for fun.  Its his job.  He works in an office with other masked serial killers.  He has a cubicle where he has to fill out status reports about his kills.  He has a meddling manager who borders on incompetent.  And something is missing in his life.  So Hackley seeks out love, a new career and new friends to try to find what he needs to feel happy again.  All while trying to keep his quota of kills up.  

The film is Office Space meets Friday the 13th.  Or "Dilbert" for Serial killers.  The film draws inspiration from Monsters Inc, Office Space, Halloween and countless other films.  We are creating an entire world where slashers are celebrities.  We are creating a deep viral presence where fans can go dig into this world and history starting with the web site http://www.funwithhackley.com which is designed to look like the company for serial killers that Hackley works at.    

Fun With Filmmakers

We are Slash Consortium.  An award-winning group of writers, directors, musicians and actors who have come together with the goal of creating dynamic and diverse films and music.  Individually, we have years of experience creating short and feature films.  And now we have come together to create a film that we are very passionate about.  Slash Consortium recently won "Best Texas Film" at the Houston Comedy Film Festival.  

Writer/Producer: Garrett Hargrove
National Lampoon writer, Garrett Hargrove has penned the script.  Garrett, a lifelong horror fan, wanted to show what was going on when those famous masked serial killers weren't killing.  What was driving them?  Why were they never allowed to run?  Why did they always have to pick off the black guy first? In the end, they all sounded like silly rules a corporation might put on its employees when they have no clue what it takes to get the job done.    

Director/Producer: T. E. Sanders
Stepping behind the camera to bring Hackley to life is the immensely talented T. E. Sanders.  T. E. has directed numerous music videos, short films and has a distinct visual style that will make Hackley pop off the screen.  

Director of Photography: Larry McKee
Larry McKee is an Emmy winning director of photography and a magician behind the camera.  Larry brings 30+ years of experience to the Red Epic that we are currently shooting Hackley with.  

Cast
The cast is headlined by Allen Hackley (Cherry Bomb) portraying "Hackley", Trey Huguley playing Hackley's boss, El Matador, Garrett Graham (Zero Charisma) portraying his best friend and fellow killer, Rancid and Michelle Ellen Jones (Conjoined, The Pickaxe Murders III) portraying Danielle, the girl Hackley is obsessing over.  

Fun With Budgeting

We have the film mostly financed.  We are in the process of shooting and have already completed several days of filming.  We are shooting for $9000 or more with this campaign.  Here is what that money will go towards:

$2500 - Color Correction
$1500 - Sound Editing
$1000 - Publicity Materials/Festival Entry Fees
$4000 - To bring in a star to open the film

The film opens with the 1987 Trailer to "Hackley VII".  We want this opening trailer to feature a major horror icon that will give Hackley a history that extends way before the 2014 filming.  It costs money to bring in a horror icon and that is the last $4k of our IndieGoGo campaign.  In order to get the funding to pull a horror icon into OUR world, we are offering a TON of perks to help pull YOU into our world, too... 

Fun With Prizes

With Garrett's last film, Cherry Bomb, they found unique ways to get their fans involved in the film.  They offered a prize where a certain donation level would get a photo of their choosing displayed prominently in the film.  It was hugely popular.  It helped get Cherry Bomb to the finish line and eventually an international release.  

For Hackley, we want to do one better.  We want to pull YOU into Hackley's world.  We are offering perks to get your name in the credits, get your name on a list of future targets in the film and even... create your own serial killer to be featured in the film!  Since this world is filled with serial killers working in the same office, we built in room to add a few for our Indiegogo supporters!  

For an even bigger contribution, we will invite you on set to become that killer!  We will set up a photo session and create a custom movie poster for you as your killer and print it up for you!

Fun With Closing Thoughts

We cannot thank you enough for your time and your contribution!  And even if you can't contribute, we would so appreciate you sharing our campaign with anyone you think might want to have their own killer in a film.  Or would want their name featured in a horror comedy film.  Or if you know someone who has ever muttered "I just don't know what I'm going to do with all this money I have!"
