As you hopefully have heard, I am going to be teaching 5th grade at Ridgecrest Elementary in Shoreline this year! I am absolutely thrilled. My new coworkers are supportive, fantastic people and I am excited to work with them in the upcoming months (and hopefully for years to come!). I am really looking forward to meeting my students and watching them grow over the school year.
I am starting to set up my classroom, and though the district and school provide me with the essentials for teaching, I have discovered that there are many things I would like to purchase to make my classroom a better learning environment. Things such as books for my class library, tubs to organize the books, a rug for the floor in our meeting area, computer speakers, organization for my learning stations, labels, and posters and decor to make the room more friendly. I am also hoping to eventually get a mini fridge and electric kettle, for healthy snacks and tea when I am working late or on weekends. Unfortunately, I am unable to purchase those things at this point in time, because I do not have the funds.
