We had such an amazing time with our production of How I Learned to Drive by Paula Vogel last summer at the Tank and it was all thanks to YOU and your help!
In order to make our upcoming season for summer 2016 happen we are greatly dependent on your generous support again this year.
Who We Are
G45 Productions is an artistic the collective made up of 20 young artists from New York City, all recent graduates of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts. We strive to produce actor driven theatrical works of an immense variety including both new works and revivals.
This summer, G45 is taking on 2 projects that will stay true to its mission and push the group into new territory.
1) New Work Development Series
This summer G45 is honored to have a week long residency at IRT Theater which will be used to develop the works of 4 amazing playwrights all under the age of 23. Some works have been brought in, some have been commissioned specifically for this residency, but all are inventive, bold, funny, and incisive stories that need to be told.
The playwrights will go through intensive rehearsals with a cast of peers as well as feedback sessions with actors and artistic consultants from the G45 ensemble.
They will ultimately present their works in a series of public readings on July 1st-3rd. The readings will be performed, directed and designed by G45 members and friends as we build and include the artists we know and love.
Here is our lineup of amazing playwrights along with their show dates:
July 1st 8 PM- Melanin/ Where You Gonna Run To/ Poplar and Rope by Kori Alston
July 2nd 2 PM- Sip//Crash by Samantha Mueller
July 2nd 8 PM- Here be Monsters by India Kotis
July 3rd 2 PM- Black Ice by Max Friedlich

2) Where We're Born by Lucy Thurber
Our main stage production this year will be Lucy Thurber's acclaimed play Where We're Born at The Flea Theater.
We are honored to be making our Off-off Broadway debut at The Flea Theater, one of the most acclaimed downtown spaces in New York.
Where We're Born is the story of Lilly Marino a freshman on scholarship at a prestigious liberal arts school in Northern MA. When she returns home on her October break, Lilly’s intellect collides with the culture of the rough and tumble hilltown in which she was raised. Over her week at home lines are blurred, and identities challenged as Lilly questions where she belongs. Bold and explosive, Lucy Thurber’s Where We’re Born explores why it is we can never return home.
Starring:
Directed by Michael Herwitz
The show will be fully performed produced, directed, and designed by G45 members and friends.
Where We're Born goes up July 15th - 24th @ 7:00pm @ the Flea Theater
