Game Over Books is a small independent book publisher based in Boston, Massachusetts. We publish books from diverse voices that push creative writing forward. From acceptance to publication, we give continual guidance to writers as they continue to gain experience, grow their craft, and navigate the world of publishing.
We want to show people that a 40-page poetry collection about Gerard Way as a queer and trans icon has just as much value, and has just as much quality, as New York Times bestsellers, if not more. Our press prides itself on being transparent about all aspects of our publishing process and providing authors a much needed entry point into the publishing industry.
Game Over Books is currently funded entirely on book sales, Patreon, and donations from generous people who believe in our mission. As we expand, we want to add other avenues of growth while sticking to our mission of getting authors and staff paid while being transparent.
We’ve decided to do a yearly fundraiser to help offset the rising costs of printing, shipping, and marketing expenses and also lost income from the long pause of in-person shows. With your contribution, we will be able to bring on additional editors, cover artists, submission readers, and more.
In return for your donations, we’re offering a wide range of perks, ranging from merch to books to poetry manuscript consultations with our excellent editors on staff.
If you can’t contribute, that’s totally okay! Please share this fundraising effort. And if you’re interested in something more long term, check out our Patreon for behind the scenes information, Q+As, and monthly discounts.
Thank you so much for your time.
Best,
Josh Savory
