Bring Great Dance to the Genesee Valley. 

Genesee Dance Theatre is Allegany county's new professional dance company. We are committed to entertaining and educating local audiences through quality performances and outreach. GDT is a program of the Houghton Movement & Arts Center (HMAC).

We invite you to play a part in the birth of this company by contributing to our first performance, Paper Moon: A Ballet from the Great American Songbook in Fall 2014.

What We Need 

Your contributions will fund the following:

• $1200 - artist fees (GDT hires passionate and highly trained professional dancers)
• $250 - music licensing 
• $300 - costumes (supplemented by costumes from HMAC)
• $400 - advertising, promotion and printing (posters, programs, tickets, newspaper ads) 
• $500 - theater rental 

The Impact

 Funding companies like Genesee Dance Theatre sets a precedent for support for local support for the arts and encourages performing artists to stage entertaining productions here in the Genesee Valley and the Southern Tier. By supporting our first performance, you are helping Genesee Dance Theatre become a vibrant local presence to support arts education, promote tourism and stimulate economic growth in Allegany and surrounding counties.
