Hey everyone...

Some of you may know my best friend Dawn... some may not... Yesterday her Grandma passed away pretty suddenly. There is nothing Dawn and her family would like more than to get her home to be with them so that they may start the healing process.

Dawn currently lives in Arkansas with her husband Jeremie and her 3 year old son Conner. They both work very hard at their full-time jobs and provide a beautiful home, nice dinners, and even sometimes an extra little surpirse for the baby (usually a "disney cars" toy). Although they do their best to make ends meet they just werent prepared for this expense...(a last minute flight, a babysitter, missed wages, etc.). Is anyone ever really ready? That's why I am here today... I'm gonna go back to "for those of you who may not know Dawn"... she is the first person to help someone in need... at first I typed "a friend in need" but that just isn't true... she is constantly helping strangers as well... She is that girl who literally helps someone across the street, who will hand her last dollar to the hungry homeless man, who is constantly adopting an elderly person who doesn't have family and visiting them and loving them until the day they die, I can't tell you how many times she's gotten me personally out of a rutt. She's just that girl. So today, I am really hoping I/we can be "Dawn" for Dawn...

The truth is... there are no words I could use to explain how loving and caring and giving Dawn is... Please help me get her home....

Words from Dawn:

"My Grandma was the most kind, loving giving woman. I spent most of my childhood by her side. She taught me so many things, how to cook, how to make little smiley faces in my fried bologna. She had a great sense of humor, and even when she started getting pretty deep into her dementia, she kept her sense of humor intact. I would always make jokes about her going to the senior center..."Grandma...don't be flirting to much, you're gonna give those men a heart attack"...or "no parties grandma" She would always laugh so hard. I'd call her up to sing her a song, she loved when I'd sing to her, especially Amazing Grace. I really hoped that I could get out there to California to sing for her again before she joined my Grandpa in heaven. My dad who I am very very close to, has spent everyday of his retirement caring for my grandmother, he has sacrificed so much for the love of his mother, and it has become his entire life. I need to get to California, for so many reasons, that I can't pick one more important than the other. I need to say goodbye to my Grandma, I want to kiss her cheek one more time, even if she can't feel it. I need to walk into her room and breathe in the abundance of Avon musk before it fades. And I need to be there to help my father to go through things, make arrangements, and adjust to a life that does not revolve around caring for Grandma"
