Who we are and what we do
The South African Wild Dogs are the first African u23 Ultimate Frisbee team to ever have been assembled! Comparisons have been made between the team and the Avengers or even the Justice League. Nevertheless, even perhaps the greatest team ever assembled needs support, and that's where you come in.
Every great team sport story involves conflict, a struggle to overcome. In this case, rather than a bullying and antagonistic adversary our constant struggle is against the prices of travel costs and the cruel monetary importance of accommodation and food.
As the WFDF 2015 U23 Worlds Ultimate Championship is in London all these costs pile up and really impede our chances of going to the biggest tournament of our lives. To put it plain and simply, We cannot afford the costs.
What We Need
To be honest, we are almost exclusively students and flat broke. We simply do not have the money to accomplish our dream. That being said, with your contribution we will be covered for our lunches, dinners and accommodation for the entire time that we are in London. As Ultimate is not a Professionally recognised sport it is hard for us to ask for sponsors and get to this amazing experience. In perspective, it will cost each player around $2700 for our baseline costs, not including other smaller costs. What we are asking for is enough for our players to breathe a collective sigh of relief as the burden is lifted considerably by your contribution.
The Impact
100% of your donations will go towards our accommodation/travel/sustenance cost. Each donation, every penny, brings us one step closer to blazing the trail of SA Ultimate competing on a global scale. If you want direct quotes for where your money will go: $30 buys 1 player a meal (London aint cheap!). $400 ensures one player is entered into the tournament. $500 pays for one players entire accommodation for the entire 8 days. $1000 pays for lodging for the team for one day. $3000 feeds the team for the whole tournament.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can't contribute that's ok! There's another way to help.
Spread the word! We are asking as honestly as we can for you to share this with everyone. Even that Uncle you only see at Christmas. Anyone that would have an inkling of a desire to help us would go a long way.
And that's all there is to it.
