"When you die, you normally have only one simple wish - to return and
tell them - "Hey, guys - it's OK! No need to feel sad! Cause you know
what? It's actually OK on both sides, really." But returning is not easy
- the only way would be dreams - "half-dreams" - "ghost-dreams". The
problematic part is if you get stuck - you turn into a demon. Hard to
say what exactly it is, but we presume it's a painful and useless
existence. Better to avoid doing this, really.
My personal "problematic part" is that I am already stuck here. No idea how I'll get out this time..."

On his
journey to the "Other Side" Reader (and his "natural
companion" Writer) meets various Ghosts and Demons, Holy Spirits and Gods.
He also meets Singer, who is neither Ghost, nor Demon. At some point she
becomes important to Reader.
Realizing this won't stop him though.
The world
of Ghostdream should be scary, but it is not - it is just dark. The story
should be sad since all the characters are more or less dead, but it is not,
because they normally remember nothing, except some minor detail or two (for
example the protagonist remembers himself reading a book - this is why they
call him Reader. It is his only memory after all).
Ghostdream is a
retro-style Point and Click Adventure game with puzzles, exploration and story.

General Situation/State Of The Project
At the
moment more than 50% of the whole game is done and eventually it will be
finished in one way or the other. Naturally with some financial help it will
become slightly bigger, slightly better, with slightly more extra content. My
problem is – I’m broke. I have no idea how to get money remaining an artist and I have no idea how to remain an artist doing something else. I won't deny though - I am a horrible businessman. My relationship with money is always full of drama and suspense.
Honestly, I
don’t believe in the success of this campaign – making a game is one thing,
promoting a campaign for the said game is a completely different thing I have no time for. But my
strategy is “try everything that is legal”. Not like I have a lot of choice
here. Yes, it would be awesome to have a successfully crowd-funded project on IGG – I would be able to concentrate on the game entirely. But I believe I’m mentally prepared for any result.
I’m quite
brilliant regardless of anything. I just need some money to maintain the
brilliance.

You can see a lot of screenshots in the gallery above. If there will be any interest at all I may add more stuff in the updates. Here you can see some additional concept arts:

Organ Grinder's head. "Red mass" signifies she's a demon.

Perfect umbrella. Concept Art for the "Other Side".

(UP: When I was trying to upload this picture with my update 2 IndieGoGo has deformed it once again making it unreasonably smaller, so I re-upload it here. Surprisingly it looks normal on the main page.

(Reader's friend - Writer. He believes he's the protagonist and Reader is his "sidekick".

(The villain - Actor, Each time he appears he wears different masks - first two masks are quite normal as you can see... the rest - not as much...
![]()
(If Reader would have a "love interest" it would be Singer, but since the concept of love is laughably pointless for a ghost they simply talk once in a while...

I wanted to put some nicely looking little players here from SoundCloud, but IndieGoGo doesn't allow me to do this. So here's the link to my page on SoundCloud:

You can get
the game. You can get the book. You can get the standard extras (OST,
Wallpapers, Avatars). All - ultimately digital.
If you
absolutely need it I can make a T-Shirt for you, but it will definitely be
cheaper (and faster) to make one yourself using the high resolution extras you
can get. If you want tokens, figurines or some other wasted plastic I can give
you several links to clearly superior campaigns with all the neat stuff mentioned.
You can
also help me design some optional scenes for the game – almost anything can
work in one way or another (except the unpleasant stuff that can offend some
people (racism, sexism, nationalism, etc…)). I’ll explain it better to you
personally, if there will be… you.

Art, Music,
Story, AGS Coding – Myself.
Acting – if
I won’t find a better alternative: Myself
If you are interested in
my biography, I wasn’t always a game designer. I’ve started as an artist,
drawing and painting. Naturally, as a kid I thought all I need is to get my
paintings to some gallery and that would make me popular and awesome. When I
was older I found out you need BIG money to do so – the kind of money young
artist could never get even if he would sell both of his kidneys. At the same time I was playing guitar attempting to compose my own
music – naturally I always had problems with the sound quality (still have) and
I still don’t have the money to get my music to professional studio. Music and
art were always the most important parts of my life, but I was also trying
countless other things (mostly art-related). At some point I’ve started to work
on my animated film, but back then I couldn’t afford a good computer and eventually
my project was killed by the epic slow-downs of my old machine. I realized
it would be a good idea to switch to video games back then – I wouldn’t need
such a big resolution and all the animations are small and very short. I still
had slow-downs, but it was bearable. Eventually, I realized video games is
where I want to be. I can talk about video games as an art form for hours, but
to sum it up I believe if video games isn’t an ultimate art form already it
will surely be born from it in the future.
Risks & Challenges
Significantly more than 50% of the game is done, I have no questions to myself at the moment. I don't think there is anything that can harm my progress, except the natural disasters nobody can control. If that will happen - see the news for more detailed info on my situation.
Other Ways You Can Help
As a multimedia artist and solo
developer I don't have that much time left to promote the game, or
anything else in general... I'll just continue to work on the game
following my normal schedule. I won't do a single thing for this
campaign to become even remotely known (because as I said before I don't
believe in its success myself). Believing is stressful - it never gave
me anything except blues and pointless paranoia.
If this will ever work it will work because of you. You can help me spread
the word on facebook or other social resources. I am quite anti-social myself –
Facebook is very close to what I believe to be the perfect digital
interpretation of hell. No way I’m going there myself.
Ask me some
questions, please. There is literally nothing more depressing than an empty
F.A.Q section.
