A collection of the first 4 issues of the Gilded Age, a steampunk comic focusing on an actress, a gunslinger, a stage magician, a thief, and a clockwork named Charlie... all trying to find their purpose in the world.

The Gilded Age is about a group of performers, the Branning Troupe. Half actors and half carnival folk, the group travels throughout the countries of Victorian Era Europe. For some it offers a direction to their lives, others get the adoration of the crowds, and the rest find simple refuge from a world which has cast them out.
The plan for The Gilded Age came from an image of a western style gunfighter with a mechanical arm. Immediately my mind started scrambling with thoughts of a Steampunk world approaching a crossroads of not only technology and magic but of the direction the world would take. Amongst that loose backdrop, I set the characters of Hanna and Elias on a mission to save King and country.
However, that is the type of plan which requires a readership. In this day and age to ask potential readers to buy into an unknown story/creator is a difficult proposition. To hope that they stick around for a four-issue story-arc... I wasn't sure.
I rethought the plan, reworked the story, and came up with something bigger, yet easier to digest. Each story would be done-in-one. They would tell stories that could be enjoyed by anyone picking up a random issue. The issues would have overlapping characters, but by and large, each issue would focus on one or a pair of characters.
The key would be that I was slowly building up my world. And making the readers care about various characters by giving each the screen time they deserved. And by doing this I allowed for different types of stories within the same world. Whether that is Western or Horror or a Heist or something Fantastical, the hope has always been to build the world from the character's eyes rather than try and hit you with one thousand years of history.
We've collected all four issues into this Volume One with an amazing brand new cover from La'Vata O'Neal.

Risks & Challenges
The Gilded Age has successfully ran a crowdfunding campaign in order to get the very first print run. Due to this initial order, I will have no problem fulfilling any additional orders from this campaign. The target date for getting those books back from the printer is April 2018.
