Give Joudy hope for life.. Help her walk
The story as told by Joudy's Mother:
"Joudy, our 5 year-old sweet and smart little girl was born pre-mature. Due to lack of oxygen at the time of birth, Joudy was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at her first birthday. Children born with cerebral palsy may experience several types of physical and intellectual disabilities. Joudy also experiences several impairments and disabilities which prevent her from performing everyday activities, independently. Joudy is visually impaired and experiences major difficulties in walking independently; additionally, Joudy experiences difficulties in coordinating her extremities appropriately. However, Joudy's cognitive and intellectual abilities are above average; she is a smart little girl. Joudy has a wonderful smile, and can tell a lot of jokes and do tricks.
Joudy is a happy little girl, however, I know that sometimes she gets so down knowing that she may never be able to walk or do simple childlike things like running after a runaway balloon...
Joudy breaks my heart every day as I cannot help her. As a mother, Joudy looks to me for support and help and it is heartbreaking not to be able to give her hope for the future. There are no local treatments available here or indeed anywhere else in the world except for one surgical procedure administered out of a hospital in St Louis, USA. As you may imagine, the treatment is neither cheap nor without its risks but my little girl desperately needs to hope. We need help and have turned to you in the hope that you can help Joudy so that one day, she may just be able to catch that balloon.
You may visit http://www.stlouischildrens.org to learn more about the surgery. If Joudy has this surgery, she may be able to walk two months later. The surgery has a time limit – it can only be performed in October this year and will cost us $75000.
If you can contribute, no matter how small your contribution is, it will give hope to a little child.
Please share this information and let's pray for a better life for our angel."
