The Story

My journey in the world of ski cross began last year as just another crazy idea. I had wanted to race this relatively new freestyle discipline since I was a kid. However, back then there was neither an established system, nor adequate financing for it.

My lifelong career in the alpine disciplines ended after the last Olympics in Sochi 2014, where I finished 23rd and was honored to carry the Bulgarian flag at the closing ceremony. During a two-year break from professional sport I delved into the world of rock'n'roll music and formed a band. I also took the time to grow as a human being and learn about different aspects of work and life in general.

Those were exciting times but I was missing the thrill of ski racing. It then became clear to me that the time to become a ski cross athlete was now or never. With no team, know-how or money I started my first Indiegogo campaign and began looking for private sponsors.

All in all, I took part in ten races and managed to score three podiums in Sweden, which allowed me to secure a spot for the World Cup races next season. Now, in order to be one of the 32 people who race the Olympic ski cross in February 2018, the only step left is to score enough World Cup points and make the cut for the Olympic rank list. It's going be tough but I believe strongly that with your financial and moral support - We can do it!

With this perk you or your company become my sponsor. You get your logo displayed on my website and regular shoutouts in social media posts until the end of the winter. I am also open to shooting and promoting special short videos with advertising purposes and/or organizing giveaways and games to further spread your message to the crowd.

The Numbers

In order to qualify for the Olympics I need a solid pre-season preparation and a team to work with me and support me.

The total budget for the upcoming Olympic season is $32,000. Thanks to last season's success my government has agreed to cover $17,000 and I need your help to raise the remaining $15,000.

Here's how I plan to use the money...

The above budget covers the minimum requirements necessary for a reasonable preparation.

However,

• If we exceed the goal and reach $18,000 I will also be able to afford a physiotherapist who will travel with me during the season. I don't have to tell you the huge difference this will make!
• If we reach $20,000 I will also be able to buy a downhill bike and do two training camps in Pamporovo Bike Park. FYI, downhill biking is the closest you can get to ski cross whenever there is no snow around.
• If we reach $21,000 I will buy an ergometer bike which I have been trying to do for the past 10 years but always failed.
• Oh lord, if we reach $25,000 I will finally have a salary!
