Hello. My name is Casey and my grandmother is dying. I know, sad right? Thing is, I don't know her. But my dad does and he hasn't seen her is over twenty years. She lives on the other side of the country, it's not a trip my dad can make alone. He's disabled and my family is not wealthy. Not even close. So I'm starting this, to see if we can raise enough money in a week and a half to send my mum and dad to see my grandmother before she dies. The cost of the trip for the two of them is around $2000; that's airfare, a car, and a motel room. I'm hoping to raise $2500. This is really important to my dad and we don't know how much longer his mom will be around. That's my dad above, from before his accident.

What We Need & What You Get

We need $2500 for this trip to Nebraska. The money will go directly to airfare, the cost to rent a car (ours won't make it that far), a motel room for four nights and the cost of food. Anything left over will be spent on necessities for the trip and taking care of the expenses.

So what do you get out of this? My love, for one thing. All perks, except for the e-mailed one, will receive a thank you card from my sister or myself. I will also start knitting hats, in all sizes. And if I can raise enough money, I'll convince my mum to make some of her hand-printed cards to send.

The Impact

I know it may not seem like it, but this would help us greatly. My dad really wants to see his mom, he doesn't even know I'm doing this. It would make him so happy to be able to see her one last time. My father was injured two years ago, he had a traumatic brain injury and he had COPD. He cannot travel alone. My sister and I do not remember our grandmother, but we are more concerned with getting my father and mum to Nebraska, so that he can see her and mum can support him through this. Please help us do this
