We're less than a month away from shooting! The support we've received has been incredibly overwhelming and we couldn't be happier with how the project is coming together. As we head into production, we're looking to cover the remaining costs needed to make the film. Please spread the word and support us in any way you can. Additional perks & casting announcements to come!
THANK YOU.
"This is a story that I’ve been trying to tell for several years now, and I didn’t know how. I didn’t understand how to take these feelings I had and put them down on paper. With Goliath I finally did. And it wasn’t easy. We went through countless drafts and bottles of wine. I’m happy to have a script in front of me that I can say I’m proud of. It explores loss, pain, family, hope. Themes that I think everyone can relate to.
Robin Walker is a character who is at a crossroads in her life. She’s unsatisfied with how things are going and afraid of giving in to complacency. She’s afraid of opening up to people. She’s been burned in the past. She’s flawed… and that’s what makes her human.
I really made it a priority to tell a story of someone struggling with a mental illness. It’s something I’d seen only a handful of films accomplish. It’s painful, it’s exhausting, it’s complex. I know from personal experience- it fucking sucks. Yet there’s so much that can be taken from it. I’ve learned to hope. I’ve learned to love. I’ve learned to cope with loss. I’ve learned to fight. And there are honestly some days I just don’t know how I’ll get through. But I do.
Robin Fraser is someone with everything going for her; She’s intelligent and ambitious. But she’s afraid of facing her insecurities - Afraid of getting hurt again.
There is no perfect character in this film because I believe there is no such thing as a perfect person. Everyone is flawed. And that's OK.
This film is about forgiveness. Not just forgiving others but forgiving yourself. The only way to get anywhere in life is to look forward. Forget about the things you did wrong. You’ve learned from them. Now take those lessons and power on."
-Luke Villemaire (Writer, Director, Producer)

Funding Secured: To date we've secured $40,000 thanks to our generous sponsors: Ryerson Communication & Design Society (RCDS), Ryerson University, Student Initiatives Fund (SIF), Ryerson Student's Union (RSU).
- We've made sure to maximize funds by offering personalized, cost-friendly perks. That means almost 100% of the money raised will be going directly to production costs such as: Cast, Locations, Art Department, Transportation, Festival Submissions, etc.
-
What happens if we don't reach our goal? We trek on. Since the beginning we've been trying to make the impossible possible and we don't intend to stop until the film is complete. We may have to rely more heavily on grant applications (which are often lengthy processes, long waits and no guarantee). The more we can fund ourselves, the less we need to worry about funding falling through.
-
What happens if we EXCEED our goal? This is the ideal scenario! Added production value, more shooting days and an overall higher quality product.

Where will the film be shown? Will I be able to see it?
It's no secret that the Canadian Film Industry has often been overshadowed by our American counterparts... but over the last few years Canada has made some huge headway and is becoming more and more respected among professionals in the industry. We want to continue to build this reputation and encourage Canadian consumers to consume Canadian content. We'll be submitting to film festivals across North America and hope to have a limited theatrical release in 2017.

Not getting the full amount: We'll do what we can to cut back on costs. This might mean not being able to hire the actors we're looking at or get the number of shoot days needed to do the story justice. We will do the best we can with what we have, and with the outstanding talent of our team we will make it happen.
