Good Good Vintage is a independent vintage shop based in Sheffield. This is a fundraiser for a complete shop fit out at Carver Street in the city center and create a grass roots cultural hot spot in Sheffield that will be more than just a vintage shop with the expansion of a cafe.
Good Good vintage started running warehouse open weekends, where we would pull 200 people down to our small premises. Following a successful pop up in the city center at the old Freshman's store and after much deliberation for our next step we've decided to stay at the pop up location on Carver Street and renovate! Woop!
And oh my goodness what have we got ourselves in for!
The renovations come at a cost, the whole bill we are looking at is 35,000 GBP and this includes a lot of hard work from us making some thrifty savings. Commercial work really does come at a cost and its not the easiest time for small buisnesses but we are still fighting through and ploughing on. Doing these renovations means a whole new look with 80s warehouse notes and 70s wooden touches, a cafe element with space for 20 people which we are so excited about and the introduction of curated alternative magazines to our reportoir. This campaign helps in a huge way towards these goals.
It also means keeping one 20 year strong vintage location in the city center alive benefiting Sheffields wonderful community of vintage devotees, saving god knows how many items from landfill and serving to keep independent culture alive in the City Center.
We're offering some exclusive rewards, Totes, T-Shirts, Jumpers, Printed posters with two bespoke artwork options. As well as some fun as ons with prices starting at 2 GBP for raffle tickets to win 200 GBP store credit.
Suzy and Jack started working in vintage re-selling 8 years ago now, starting from absolutely nothing we would take 100 GBP per week and turn it into rent and living money, slowly building our stock reserves into what you see now. We've worked all hours of the day, made huge sacrifices and never taken any loans or had any big financial inputs to make the shop work. This is the first time we're asking for support in enabling the growth and stability of this company and for you it doesn't come without reward with some excellent products in exchange for your huge generosity.
Please spread the word, make some noise and share this IndieGoGo, even if you can't donate we appreciate all the help.
We've been online for 8 years, made a success of the warehouse, the carver Street pop up so we know with this support we can make it work here and make Good Good Vintage re-born in its most beautiful form yet.
The renovation plans are t;, add air-con (YES!) improve lighting with vintage dome lights and spot lights, create a clean wood window display and clad walls, improving security, large tills with 80s yellow tiles, sorting the current concrete floor thats covered by click flooring, getting in reclaimed chic vintage chairs, having a welder build bespoke railings so we can maintain the level of stock, painting the front and providing signage, sorting toilets and improving the changing rooms so they're more spacious and comfortable with bigger mirrors. Some things require us to get workers in and others we will be on our hands and knees being thrifty as we are but unfortunately it still just adds up. Help us overcome these hurdles by contributing to this crowdfunder and help an independent vintage shop in the city.
