is the work of Alex Trajkovski and Eileen Tjan, a pair of graphic designers
originally from Michigan.

is a beautifully designed publication helping to spread the word about contemporary Detroit culture in
an effective and engaging way. The city already has its hard-news and newsprint
weeklies, but lacks a real lifestyle magazine detailing Detroit urbanism. This
matte and gloss edition, with gold foil and embossing is perfect bound and ready for display on coffee
tables.

can help us achieve the printing of our premiere issue, with an emphasis on
quality design and content.
What We Need & What You Get
Here's how it breaks down in more detail:
- We need 8.5k for the
printing of 500 copies.
- If you contribute $5,
we will send you a Grand Circus sticker
- If you give $10, you
will receive a handmade Grand Circus bookmark and a sticker! The bookmarks are being hand printed and various artists/designers/illustrators from around the country are contributing to provide some Detroit-centric designs!
- For $25, you get a sticker, the BOOKMARK SET, and a digital pdf of the magazine!
- For $50, you get all the above and a copy of the magazine.
- If you can give $100 or
more, you get all the above and your name will be listed in the magazine!
- If you give $500 or more, you get all the above and you and a +1 will be specially invited as our VIP guests to our launch party. Special treatment tba. :)
- If you give $1000 or more, you get all of the above perks, the 2nd issue free, and Other Studio will do a design project for you.
The Perk Artwork
Designed and illustrated from some of the best in the industry, in return for your donations we will be turning these pieces of art into bookmarks and possibly art prints! We'll send a little bit of Detroit to you!
The Impact
The reason this
project is so valuable is because such a consequential city has never had such
a large void. Our mission is to repair the stigmatized name of the city, create
a cultural resource for the metro region, and export the finer aspects of
Detroit culture from coast to coast. The magazine is a vessel for collaboration and a stimulator for creation.
Risks & Challenges
We already have
designed, edited, and labored over our first issue! Many talented people have been involved with this first issue. Now is the time to raise
the funds to release it! Without your support we can't complete what took almost a year to source and design. One of our greatest challenges is keeping printing quality high and keeping the price of the magazine affordable.
