Let’s educate 50 future Greek tech leaders to help fight 50% Greek youth unemployment.
Right now, almost 50% of Greeks under the age of 25 are unemployed. At the same time, almost one million new jobs in IT will be created in Europe in 2015. We at CareerFoundry want to help young Greeks get the skills they need so they can land these in-demand jobs and build some financial freedom.
At CareerFoundry, we believe strongly that education is the number one way to achieve future prosperity. Every day, we help folks with little or no tech experience get the skills, thinking, and portfolio required by today’s top companies in 3 to 6 months. We believe the future of Greece--and Europe--depends on empowering young people to build their own road to financial freedom.
Your donation will help fund the training of 50 young Greeks to be web developers and UX designers. Once these men and women complete the program, they’ll be able to jumpstart their career, find jobs, become freelancers and build their own businesses. With your donation, you join us in sending the young men and women of Greece a message of hope.
What We Need
We have already set aside a scholarship fund that can sponsor 10 Greek students on our
Web Development and
UX Design program. In order to make an even greater impact, we would like to offer 40 more young Greek women and men the chance to study with us at no cost. To do this, we need your help to fundraise an additional €32.000 to cover the minimum online mentors and operational costs to provide another 40 online mentored tech courses for free to Greek nationals.
For these 40 places we will offset 50% of the cost of the course, and the remaining 50% we hope to raise through donations on this page, to cover the minimum mentor and operational costs. CareerFoundry will not make any profit and we will contribute a lot of resources to make this happen.
If we don’t raise all the money, we will still use the available funds to offer a scholarship to as many students as possible.
Your donation will help us train your Greeks in tech skills so they can launch their new careers. This will help them become financially independent. And since many tech jobs can be done remotely, their money stays in Greece, further reviving the Greek economy. In time, we hope these folks will start their own businesses, and attract more talent and money to Greece. In the long run, this will make Greece financially secure so they can rely less on banks and become a more solvent state.
