When busy parents discover their six-year-old son's lovingly maintained marijuana plant in the backyard, they disagree on what to do about it.

Where We Are

We just finished the film, Green Thumb, starring the talented Michael Goorjian, Jennifer Stuckert, Mark Robert McGrath and featuring the debut performance of Bosco Lorin.

Our dedicated crew and generous Executive Producers, Susan Frank & Jaclyn A Gross, helped us get the film made but now we need your support to send it out to the world.

What We Need

Help us reach a wide audience by supporting our film festival campaign. Festival submissions cost anywhere from $40-$70 apiece, and since we're aiming at submitting to the world's 75 best, this will add up quickly!

When our film gets accepted into festivals (green fingers & toes crossed), any excess funds will go toward marketing and promotional materials both at the festival and online.

The more momentum we gain and creative partners we attract, the better chance we have at securing a wider, more permanent distribution option for the film, and the sooner we can shoot our next project!

About Our Team

Kiel Murray  (Writer/Director)

Kiel Murray is currently writing a feature film for DisneyToon Studios. Previously, she wrote on the Disney/Pixar film, CARS, and other Disney/Pixar projects. A longtime Pixar alum, Kiel spent over a decade as a Development Executive, helping directors shape their stories.

Phil Lorin  (Writer/Director)

Phil Lorin spent half a dozen years as a San Francisco Police Officer, writing highly animated, borderline perjurious police reports for district attorneys before realizing he needed a bigger audience. In 2003, his first feature-length screenplay earned him and his writing partner, Kiel Murray, positions as writers on the Disney/Pixar animated film, CARS. Since then, the duo has brought into the world three offspring and two short films, under their Oakland-based startup, Stonehouse Pictures.

Ben Scantlin  (Producer)

Ben Scantlin, originally from the small town of Liberal, Kansas, has always had a strong appreciation for the art of visual storytelling. He is currently acting as the manager of Worldwide Non-Theatrical distribution for Sony Pictures Entertainment while running his talent management company Imagination 9. Ben is currently producing a feature film entitled 3 Graves to Kansas and a television series, Rays of Darkness, he co-created for Sony Pictures Television’s group Crackle.

Shareef Salaam  (Producer)

Shareef Salaam was born in San Francisco and is emerging as one of the up-and-coming young actor/producer/directors in the film industry. After completing film school at the Berkeley Digital Film Institute, Shareef went on to produce Napa Valley Film Festival's, "Cuvee," as well as star in the feature film, "White Devil." Shareef currently resides in Oakland, California with his wife and two boys as he continues to carve out his path in the film industry.

Paul Washburn  (Producer)

Paul is a Production Manager in Paramount's rising animation division after working on features at Pixar and Sony Pictures. Getting his start in independent features like The Pacific and Eddy with Executive Producer Allison Anders and then moving to commercial production with clients like Adidas and Coca-Cola, Paul has kept active with short format projects throughout his time in animation. Paul screened his documentary, Listen At Me Good featuring blues icon Harmonica Shah, at the San Francisco International Shorts Festival and continues to follow stories in his native Detroit.
