I looked in stores, online, and searched the world but didn't find anything. That's when towel training + speed measurement came to mind. How can my child enjoy practicing?

From this question, Gyrospeed began. Then, I found the answer in the elements of game theory. The player's goals and immediate feedback are the elements that make the game fun, and so is Gyrospeed.

 

GyroSpeed has its limitations, but we want to be transparent with our customers about how it works.

Unlike some other ball speed measurement devices, GyroSpeed does not measure the speed of the ball directly. Instead, it predicts the speed based on the acceleration of the arm and the angular velocity of the gyro sensor.

This means that the predicted speed may not always match the actual speed of the ball.

For younger players with shorter arms, GyroSpeed may predict higher speeds due to the rapid changes in angular velocity during their swings. However, this can still be a useful tool for training as it provides a baseline for players to improve upon.

If your child's predicted speed is already high enough, then it's important to focus on training that strengthens their lower body, improves the balance of their upper and lower body, and adjusts their arm angle. By doing so, your child can improve their skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

Novice users may also experience discrepancies between the predicted speed and the actual speed of the ball if they are pushing or throwing the ball rather than swinging it properly. This can be an indication of issues with the user's arm swing and should be used as a learning opportunity to improve technique.

By understanding the difference between the predicted and actual speeds, users can identify areas for improvement and work towards refining their technique for better performance.

Gyrospeed already started mass production in January. Integrated shipping starts in May 2023.

For crowdfunding orders, we will start shipping directly from the factory in early May and upload the tracking number to the Indiegogo dashboard according to the air purchase order.

Air delivery will begin in May for orders within the crowdfunding period, and local delivery will proceed at the end of May depending on the purchase order.
