Gods And Gears co-creator and artist, Dean Kotz, is coming on board the Hammerella train. Dean will be providing 5 new pages, 3 at the start and 2 at the end, that will help connect this story to the Gods And Gears universe.
But that's not all! We are also going to add the first 12 page published Gods And Gears story, THIS MAP OF MISHAP, in the Hammerella trade at no additional cost to backers. We're looking at 16+ more pages!

HAMMERELLA: THUNDERSMOKE is a 64+ page comic full of action, fantasy, and adventure that tells the story of a being that descended from gods and witches. Stranded on a distant planet as a child, HAMMERELLA learned quickly that in order to survive she had to be deadlier than the beasts that hunted her. Eventually finding herself in the midst of a galactic war, HAMMERELLA encounters ember hawks, razor wolves, giant mechs, and a rogue naval flight squadron called BLUE ASTRA.

THE “GODS AND GEARS” UNIVERSE
GODS AND GEARS is an ongoing indie comic series published by ALTERNA COMICS and created by myself (Ryan Winn), Dean Kotz, and Wes Locher. The series focuses on two boys (JIMMY and ELI) and their awesome adventures chasing down ancient magic, alien artifacts, and futuristic technology.

Do you need to have read GODS AND GEARS to enjoy HAMMERELLA?
Absolutely not! This is a story that can be enjoyed on its own, but reading both will provide you with a deeper understanding of this fantastical world and the dynamic characters that live in it. So for readers that may have missed out on GODS AND GEARS the first time around and would like a more complete experience, GODS AND GEARS #1-4 is also available on this campaign.

THE CREATIVE TEAM
Not only will I be writing and coloring this as I do with the regular GODS AND GEARS series, but I will be doing the pencils and inks as well. This will also provide co-creator and regular series artist, Dean Kotz, the chance to move ahead on GODS AND GEARS issues 5-8: “The Heart Of Racing”. I spent most of my career as an inker and illustrator, delivering top quality work and making deadlines so I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to you --the reader!

$13,000 STRETCH GOAL!
We have SO many stories to tell in the G&G universe. Some so large in scale it takes 4 giant issues to tell. Others stories are smaller in scale but just as fun to tell. And what could be more fun and also small in scale than- THE BABY HAMMERELLA!
If we surpass our goal and get to $13,000 we will add 4 pages of short BABY HAMMERELLA stories of her time as an infant in The Garden Of Umbra. Here’s an adorable sampling of one of the first times BH accidentally summoned her powers.

$15,000 STRETCH GOAL!
If we can work together to reach the $15,000 stretch goal we will add 8 glorious pages to the story. There’s nothing a comic artist likes more than getting to spread out action, spend more time in outlandish scenes, and get the chance to show off their storytelling chops.
With 8 more pages we could do that and more! Think of the spreads, the splashes, and the double page spreads that await us all!
Unfortunately there are no samples of that to show- just yet. But I believe we can get there together.
