Short Summary

Several months ago I developed a plugin that integrates Harvest time-tracking with JIRA issues. It has since been downloaded by more than 300 companies worldwide. Here's a link to the plugin: Harvest Real-Time Tracking

However this plugin loads time from an issue into Harvest only. One of the most requested features is integration with the JIRA Worklogs (see the issue in Github).

I'm starting this campaign to raise funds for that feature, which will benefit at least 300 JIRA instances and will probably boost the plugin's popularity and adoption way beyond these initial numbers.

What I Need & What You Get

I estimate I'll need around 2 months to fully develop this feature, pair it with a good and stable test suite and fix any bugs before releasing it to the public. It may take more than that but if that happens I'll fund that myself.

Here's a breakdown:

  • Total estimated number of hours: 320 (two months)
  • My absolute minimum rate for this project: EUR 25/hr
  • That makes a goal of: EUR 8,000
  • After taxes I'll get around 12.5/hr which in Belgium is a pretty basic salary (you get that working at McDonalds).
  • The main idea behind this campaign is not only to speed up this feature but also to help the plugin remain free!

The Impact

  • More than 300 existing users will receive a feature they all quite desperately need.
  • Without the limitation of lacking a worklog integration, the plugin will probably boost the number of monthly downloads.
  • It may even drive new customers to Harvest if existing JIRA users are looking for a good time-tracking integration!

Other Ways You Can Help

Its OK if you can't contribute to this campaign, but here are other ways you can help!

  • Get the word out and make some noise about this campaign! You can use the share tools provided in this page.
  • Review our plugin if you already use it, and otherwise just give it a try.
  • Report bugs here.
  • Send a word of encouragement.

Thanks for your attention!
