Hearts of Men (HOM), is a two week dance and movement workshop held on the campus of Montclair State University and will offer classes in movement, improvisation, storytelling/sharing, repertory, culminating in performances on September 6 & 7.  This workshop is for men of all ages (high school through 80!) and the only criteria is the love for movement and at no cost to all participants!

WHY FREE?

Hearts of Men recognizes that many men, including male dancers, have few opportunities to collaborate and share their artistic expression with one another. This workshop creates a unique community which will allow for the experience of movement, collaboration and creation for men of all ages.

Fredrick Earl Mosley, Founder and Director of Hearts of Men, says, “It is most important for me to make sure that the cost of tuition and transportation does not prevent anyone from participating in this transformational workshop.”

IMPACT/COMMUNITY

Mr. Mosley believes strongly in mentoring young dancers and helping them decide what it is they wish to do with their lives, whether it involves dance as a professional career or a stepping stone to head in a positive direction. “I think dance is one of the best ways to help young minds and hearts find their way in the world."

The goal of HOM is to broaden the learning process far beyond the performance aspect. HOM wishes to help these men grow in different ways as they learn from a variety of artists and teachers currently in different genres of dance.

The HOM workshop allows the men involved to share male-male relationships without hesitation, question or judgment.

Hearts of Men creates a community in which everyone is welcomed in the process with an appreciation that each age has its own value and wisdom and that spirit is the foundation and essence of the Hearts of Men project.

Ways You Can Help

Your donation will help to cover all production costs which include: salaries for teachers, choreographers, crew, lighting designers, sound designers, costuming, mailings, programs and transportation costs so dancers living outside of NJ can afford to get back and forth to campus. It will also help to ensure that each participant be provided with lunch if they are unable to purchase it on their own.

In return we have fun perks to say THANK YOU from the bottom of our Hearts! Please review all of the perks on our campaign page!

If you cannot donate at this time you can still help! This is not a secret! Share our campaign on Facebook, Twitter and through email with your Family and Friends!
