The HeatStroke LHG for F-Series 6.7L diesel engines is revolutionary.
The Ventech HeatStroke LHGis not a plugin preheater or a fuel-burning preheater. It is an engine-mounted accessory (heat generator) that uses rotation from the serpentine belt to add 27,000 to 50,000 BTU/hr of safe, essentially instantaneous heat into the engine coolant/water jacket. By quickly raising the coolant to its proper operating temperature and keeping it there while you use the vehicle, the HeatStroke LHG helps in actively preventing damage and adding efficiency.

With newer diesel engine technology, lubricants, and fuel chemistries, unless you are in an extreme cold situation, your engine will start just fine. However, as your engine struggles to warm up, it is not burning fuel efficiently. Instead, it creates deposits and compromises the delicate balance that protects your engine and allows it to be cleaner and more efficient than diesel engines of the past.
Depending on the ambient temperature and driving conditions, it may take your engine a very long time to reach its proper operating temperature - and once it does, your engine may not be able to maintain. If it cannot reach or maintain the proper temperature, your engine will not burn fuel properly - perhaps during your entire drive - running with lower efficiency, more regen, more deposits, and more wear and tear on the engine.

There are two other problems with running cold. First, the windows don't defrost quickly and may not be able to stay ice-free. This is an efficiency issue and a safety issue. You can't get moving, and it isn't safe to be moving if your windows are frosted over, and letting the engine run in idle or burning diesel with a fuel-fired heater is certainly not efficient.
