Short Summary
Hello, this is Greg DeLiso & Peter Litvin, a couple of goofs from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. We met in high school back in 2001 and have been working together ever since. Pete is a musician and I'm a movie maker.
Two years ago we embarked on a pretty amzing journey... to make a feature film about a crazy vigilante that kills bad guys with two big steak knives.
We shot for months and months, got covered in fake blood, blew some shit up and we're almost done! Now we need your help...

What We Need & What You Get
Peter and I did, quite literally, everything on this movie -- from directing to holding the boom. Our duties break down as such, Peter is the producer, main character (Hectic Knife), he did the score (all on these awesome old synths from the 80s, think John Carpenter meets Tangerine Dream!) and all of the sound editing, ADR and mixing. We co-wrote the movie and I shot, edited and directed it myself.
We enlisted help from friends to do the foley (sound fx recording, we stabbed a lot of watermelons!), poster design and special effects... And we still owe them some $$$.
We spent a little over $30,000 of our own money over the last two years. Making a movie is a ton of work but it was money well spent. We paid all of our actors (a good rate too!), and for such a low budget the movie really does look awesome.
To promote and release the movie we will be going all of the traditional routes; film festivals, screenings, soliciting to distribution companies -- we'll certainly be knocking on Troma's door in NYC!
However, we want to take Hectic Knife directly to you. We will be taking the movie on tour. Hectic is best positioned as an indie, cult movie so we'll be taking to all of the boutique, art house cinemas around the country to have fun, interactive midnight screenings.
The money will go to fund the tour, to press DVDs, print posters and do online promotion. Hectic Knife is done, but we need your help to show it to people because we spent all of our money makin the damn thing!
