Overview

Our journey to the Rio Olympics 2016 has already started and we invite you to be a part of it. We ask for your support to bring our dream for an Olympic medal for Greece to become reality, at this years Olympic Games taking place in Rio.

Who are we?

We are Sofia Bekatorou and Michalis Pateniotis and together we are representing Greece in the newly introduced Olympic Nacra 17 sailing class, in the Rio 2016 Olympics.

Our passion and commitment for sailing has helped us reach the finish lines of a plethora of races as winners. A combination of our individual abilities coupled with our dynamics as a team, will be our competitive advantage on the road to Rio’s finish line.

To have Sofia for co-sailor and skipper on board, who has won a gold and bronze medal in the Olympic Games of Athens and Beijing, in 2004 and 2008, respectively, has emerged twice as the best sailor in the world in all ISAF sailing classes and who has also won five races each in both the European and World Championships, is an important advantage as you can be assured that you can improve using her experience and knowledge and also have a safety net that she can lead the team to greatness in the best possible way!

Michalis' experience through his distinction at the World Young Championship, winning 2nd place at the ORCi 2008 Championship and placing 2nd and 3rd at the European Lightning class and European Optimist class respectively, will surely allow the team to showcase its strengths in the best way possible.

Well equipped with rigorous training and based on our successful past Olympic and World Championship campaigns, we are embarking on this new journey to successfully compete among some of the best sailors in the world.

What you can do

To help us through our journey in Rio, our team will need to raise $25,000. Your generous contributions will be used for travel expenses, equipment purchases and maintenance, as well as our final stage training in Rio.

We aim for our perks to be as personal to you as possible, as these will be our token of appreciation for your kind generosity.

The impact

We both come from a country that has been deeply affected by the economic recession. However, we do not want to see this as an obstacle, but instead we want to be examples to our fellow Greeks of not allowing the challenge our country is facing, to stand in the way of achieving our dreams and bringing pride to our country, Greece. We aim to inspire the younger generation and all our fellow Greeks to work towards proudly raising the Hellenic flag.

What you will get in return

We have personally designed all our perks to live up to your valuable contribution and for you to receive personalized messages and items which depict our sailing experiences on and off the water.

Depending on your contribution you will receive personalized messages, online shoutouts, custom made video content, signed items from our personal collection, exclusive equipment as well as see your name on our apparel and sailing boat.

The largest perk we will whole heartedly provide is the sailing boat we will be using in this journey we are already embarking on - the Rio Olympics 2016.

Πλεύσε μαζί μας στο ταξίδι μας στο Ρίο και κάνε το όνειρο μας πραγματικότητα για ένα Ολυμπιακό μετάλλιο για την Ελλάδα!

Ποιοι Είμαστε;

Είμαστε η Σοφία Μπεκατώρου και ο Μιχάλης Πατενιώτης και εκπροσωπούμε την Ελλάδα στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Ρίο το 2016, στην νεοεισαχθείσα ιστιοπλοϊκή ολυμπιακή κατηγορία Nacra 17.

Το πάθος μας για την ιστιοπλοΐα και η προσήλωση στο άθλημα αυτό, μας έχει βοηθήσει να κατακτήσουμε πολλούς τίτλους. Ο συνδυασμός των μεμονωμένων δυνάμεων της ομάδας μας είναι αυτό που θα μας βοηθήσει για να μπορέσουμε να αποκτήσουμε ανταγωνιστικό πλεονέκτημα.

Το να έχεις συμπαίκτρια και κυβερνήτη του σκάφους τη Σοφία, που έχει κατακτήσει χρυσό και χάλκινο μετάλλιο στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες της Αθήνας και του Πεκίνο το 2004 και το 2008 αντίστοιχα, έχει αναδειχθεί δύο φορές ως η καλύτερη ιστιοπλόος του κόσμου σε όλες τις ιστιοπλοϊκές κατηγορίες από την ISAF και έχει κατακτήσει από πέντε φορές το Ευρωπαϊκό και το Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα είναι σημαντικό πλεονέκτημα, γιατί γνωρίζεις πως μπορείς να βελτιωθείς από την εμπειρία της και νιώθεις και την ασφάλεια γιατί μπορεί να καθοδηγήσει την ομάδα με τον καλύτερο τρόπο.

Η εμπειρία του Μιχάλη μέσω της διάκρισης του σε παγκόσμιο Πρωταθλητή Νέων, η κατάκτηση 2^ης θέσης στο παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα ORCi 2008 και η κατάκτηση 2^ης και 3^ης θέσης στα ευρωπαϊκά πρωταθλήματα Lightning και Optimist αντιστοίχως, θα βοηθήσει πολύ για να μπορέσει η ομάδα μας να συνδυάσει και να αναδείξει με τον καλύτερο τρόπο τις δυνάμεις της.

Έχοντας εξοπλιστεί κατάλληλα με απαιτητικές προπονήσεις και εκπαίδευση και βασιζόμενοι στις προηγούμενες επιτυχίες μας σε Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες και Παγκόσμια Πρωταθλήματα, ξεκινούμε αυτό το ταξίδι προκειμένου να συναγωνιστούμε με επιτυχία κάποιους από τους καλύτερους ιστιοπλόους του κόσμου.

Τι μπορείς να κάνεις

Για να μας βοηθήσεις για το ταξίδι μας στο Ρίο, η ομάδα μας χρειάζεται να συγκεντρώσει $25.000. Η γενναιόδωρη συνεισφορά σου θα χρησιμοποιηθεί για τα έξοδα ταξιδιού, για αγορά και συντήρηση εξοπλισμού, καθώς επίσης και για την τελική προετοιμασία μας στο Ρίο.

Έχουμε ως στόχο ότι τα Perks που θα σας προσφέρουμε να είναι όσο πιο προσωπικά γίνεται για κάθε έναν, προκείμενου να αποτελούν ένδειξη ευγνωμοσύνης για την ευγενική γενναιοδωρία σου.

Αντίκτυπος

Είμαστε και οι δύο από μια χώρα που έχει επηρεαστεί βαθιά από την οικονομική κρίση. Παρόλα αυτά δεν θέλουμε να το δούμε αυτό ως εμπόδιο, αλλά θέλουμε να γίνουμε παράδειγμα για τους Έλληνες συμπατριώτες μας, προκειμένου να μην επιτρέψουν στην δοκιμασία που περνά η χώρα μας να σταθεί εμπόδιο στο να κυνηγούν και να πραγματοποιούν τα όνειρα τους και να κάνουν περήφανη τη χώρα μας, την Ελλάδα. Έχουμε σκοπό να εμπνεύσουμε τη νεότερη ελληνική γενιά και όλους τους Έλληνες, ώστε όλοι μαζί υπερήφανα να ανυψώσουμε την Ελληνική σημαία.

Έχουμε σχεδιάσει προσωπικά τα perks, για να ανταποκριθούμε στην πολύτιμη συνεισφορά σου και έτσι να λαμβάνεις μηνύματα και δώρα που θα απεικονίζουν τις ιστιοπλοϊκές εμπειρίες μας μέσα και έξω από το νερό.

Ανάλογα με τη συνεισφορά σου θα μπορείς να λάβεις προσωπικά μηνύματα, online shoutouts, custom made video content, υπογεγραμμένα είδη από την προσωπική μας συλλογή, αποκλειστικό εξοπλισμό όπως επίσης και το όνομα σου στην ενδυμασία και στο ιστιοπλοϊκό σκάφος.

Το μεγαλύτερο perk που προσφέρουμε με μεγάλη χαρά, είναι το ιστιοπλοϊκό που θα χρησιμοποιηθεί σε αυτό το ταξίδι, με αυτό που ήδη έχουμε ξεκινήσει για τους Ολυμπιακούς του Ρίο.
