Who am I?

I'm a Social Media Marketer who recently moved to Qatar from Sri Lanka, for work. A tough move, being away from family, which got worse when it didn't go too well with the company I first joined.

Now 5 months after that incident, I'm back on my feet thanks to the support of friends and family, with a good job in a decent company.

Why help Sudath*?

Sudath is a middle aged family man with a wife and 2 kids in Sri Lanka, who came to Qatar with the help of his friend to find a job and save some money to support the family. Unfortunately for him, he could not secure a job within the 1st three months of his visit visa that his friend got for him, upon which his friend managed to secure a visit visa for a further 3 months.

The next 3 months again rolled past pretty quickly and Sudath still couldn't find a job. Now with his visa expired, his passport accumulating a penalty each day and no money in hand or in the bank, Sudath has given up his hopes in Qatar and wants to go back home.

Sudath needs to settle the penalty, secure a flight within 7 days of settling it and return to Sri Lanka to be united with his family and settle down with a job that would keep him and the family happy.

So I thought, we've all been at a difficult situation in our life and got help from our friends, to get back up. Hence my idea of setting up this crowdfunding initiative to help raise the money needed to send Sudath back home and give him a little more, so he can manage his expenses till he gets a job.
