Message Me If... is hitting the road!
Kelly Anderson Dance Theatre is bringing Message Me If... to Milwaukee and we couldn't be more excited! I will soon be sharing one of my favorite works in one of my favorite places, my hometown. I hope that, with your help, I can make this homecoming a true success.
About the show
Inspired by several years of unsuccessful relationships and the accumulation of horrible online dating disasters, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Contemporary dating sucked. So, I decided to make a dance about it.
Message Me If... is an evening-length dance theater production about a single girl living in the contemporary dating world. Boozy first date disasters, cat lady meltdowns, online catastrophes, a reality television tragedy and the infamous “ladies night” all make their way into the imaginary world she creates based on her unsuccessful quest for companionship.
Why we need your help!
Truthfully, I am tired of having to ask family and friends for donations. Unfortunately, due to the current state of the arts, crowdfunding seems to be one of the only solutions to pull this off independently. I could opt to raise ticket prices as a solution. However, I want people to see the show. I want everyone to see the show, not just those who can afford it.
With a full house, I should be able to reimburse some of the production costs. With your help, I will be able to pay the dancers too. They have worked incredibly hard to make this dream a reality and this show couldn't exist without their dedication and talent. Help me reward them for being awesome!!!!!
Where your money is going
$3200 performer compensation
$250 promotional material (posters/flyers)
$1350 lighting design and remaining theater rental
$400 remaining performance costs (video, costume, props)
$400 Lodging

I really hope you can make the show. That is the greatest contribution you can make. We do this because we love it and we love sharing it with you.
P.S. Chicago and Madison folks...Milwaukee isn't that far away and I promise it will be worth the trek.
