The Story

My brother Scott has suffered autism all his life, he's very uncomfortable in any in-person social experience, he struggles to hold down a vocal conversation and often interprets what you say as an attempt to upset him.

Because of this he prefers to spend a lot of his time indoors on the decayingly old family PC, he either plays video games or chats to a few people from different corners of the globe. In the past when the PC has broke he has becoming very bored, and somewhat depressed.

At the moment he is studying cooking under a special needs education provider called CASE. Because Scott has chosen a different path of education than computers/IT he has been refused funding to buy a PC from his disability payers as they believe he doesn't need one.

Whilst he doesn't need a PC I still find it to be essential as it is his only enjoyable form of entertainment and the only way he feels comfortable talking to people.

By donating to this campaign you'll be helping buy and build a new PC for Scott to play games and communicate with his friends.

What I Need?

To build Scott a decent PC I only need £400 to cover the components and delivery cost the £500 is an imposed minimum set by indiegogo. I will help Scott to build the PC as he has always taken an interest in such a thing.

If the funding goal is not reached then the money will be placed in my savings account and I will look at alternate sources to cover the remainder of the funding.

If the funding goal is reached or exceeded then the extra cash will be used to pay off the IndieGoGo Charge/fee, and any excess cash will be spent on better components, any further cash which is insufficient for purchasing hardware will be spent on buying software/games for Scott or donated to charity (depending upon Scotts choice).

The list of parts I currently plan to buy for Scott are:

Keep in mind the parts may change as per availability or extra funding recieved but all contributions WILL be spent on the PC or Software/Games for Scott.

The Impact

Whilst I can't say your contribution will cause a globewide difference or help improve the living conditions for a huge amount of people I can say that It will help keep Scott happy and also prevent the worry of the family PC dying in the near future as well as eliminate the monthly break downs the current PC is having.
